The "Home Style" is delightful for a certain spontaneity but no less moving. I keep wanting to hear "just one more," but eventually see the clock and the hour.

Thank you so much for the video. I do not know how he can remember all the musical notes, he is so talented. Wow. I wish I can do this in my next life, or next next life.

Let's do it in this life we are living! Yundi have been spending his whole life practicing, about 30 years? I bet you still have 30 years of life, right? :) Do it if you want it!!!

I wish this could be in AT LEAST 720 resolution - I find that piano to have some tuning problems in the middle register - coming off as a bit "hard" and "clangy" sounding. HOpefully it's the 480 resolution. Yundi - has a good, robust and hearty piano style. So glad he doesn't BANG out Beethoven.

it shouldn't be an issue, and you have to try harder if you unluckily own poor momory. all the students in Russian musical schools are asked to play all the music they are learning (including etudes) totally by heart!

People just starting out on piano have a lot of trouble getting their hands to "work together". For professionals out there, how does it feel to play with both hands? Do the two hands "Play as one", so to speak; do they tell eachother what to do? Or is it just as simple as paying attention to both at once?
@anthonycyrille57549 жыл бұрын
michael warner Depends on the piece. When it comes to Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, quite often you need both hands to have some independencies. When you're working, you're just synchronizing your hands to play the notes, the phrases simultaneously, focusing on playing at the right time. After a while, your hands know what to do and become way more independant on playing. They kind of play as one, since you've trained them hard you don't focus on playing with both hand anymore, you're focusing on playing right.

florestan eusebius it's actually a performance of the Appassionata first movement. the Youku video was quite a stir because he kept repeating a passage until he remembered what was next.

I have never heard a more boring and lifeless rendition of Beethoven's great work than this. What a waste of energy on Yundi's part. I know he can do better than this - but he seems to be in purely a mechanical mode here - not much music making, I'm afraid...
@haiyanw3659 жыл бұрын
lourak613 Boring it is. I really liked him before. I hope he'd see what he's doing.
@AlejandroMeri9 жыл бұрын
lourak613 Maybe because he is practicing a particularly fast piece? focusing on not missing a note instead of give it some feeling?
@davidxu95668 жыл бұрын
+lourak613 Probably because this is "home style"... you know, when you're at home, sitting at the piano, and just kind of having fun with your fingers. You want a more "performance-like" performance, feel free to buy his album (or find it on KZbin--I'm sure it's out there somewhere).
@ershenlin17748 жыл бұрын
Not only the piano was out of tune, his brain was out of tune too.
