Thanks for this. Will attempt the exact same procedure on my Q500 4K tomorrow. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it. :)

+Johan Spjuth Did you manage it? I'm ordering some parts to try this aswell. Can you share any tips and tricks? When you're placing the mainboard back, how do you know which wire to connect to the engines and ESC's?
@JohanSpjuth8 жыл бұрын
I did manage it. :) However, I cut the power cables along half way along each beam so they never came off the main board. Make sure you label the power and ESC cables with a piece of tape so you know which ones go to which corner of the new body. The ESC cables disconnects from each engine bay so no need to disconnect those from the MB either. The soldering I did was on the ESCs (plus and minus engine cables from MB) + connecting the cut power cables back together. For the latter, I used a piece of shrink tubing for each lead to isolate the solder spots. I hope that makes sense. Make absolutely sure you aren't in a rush and be thorough. It will take quite a few hours to complete. Good luck.

+Johan Spjuth Thanks! Those are great pointers. I will make sure to follow it!

+Rick Mooijman No worries. Oh, and make sure to take a lot of pictures as you go along, for reference when you reverse the process. That helped me a lot.

Thank you both for the tips and tricks. My parts will be delivered today, so after the weekend me and my buddy will put everything together. I'll post my findings here!

Thanks for the video, nice to have a complete understanding BEFORE diving into the body replacement myself. My question, why "cut the power wires" than unsoder them? Less chance of short circuit something if the new soder was not completely clean? Your advice is appreciated.

interesting, liked. can you tell me if there is a normal rc receiver inside where you can see channels, like the channel for the turtle/rabbit mode, or is it impossible to see because circuit board? hope this make sense?
@helmutelsner1669 жыл бұрын
+Drone Minds No, the receiver has a serial IIC connection to the flight controller (FC). The signals from remote (and telemetry to remote) are digital on Rx / Tx cables between receiver and FC: white - Tx, blue - Rx, red - +3,3V, black - 0V (Rx, Tx from FC p.o.v.). You cannot see the channels by cabling. br HE

those 3 motor wires are a bitch to solder make sure you have a good di-soldering gun once those wires are solder the board don't want to sit back in place have to be push and maneuvered back in place. this has to be the hardest part of the job those 3 motor wires X 4 spend almost 5 hours messing with those wires finally i gave up and i did my own abortion job. this guy makes it look so easy.
