unfortunately the soft jepg images and distorted edges using the E90 mean to much post processing to use this for commercial surveys

I'd have to disagree entirely. Having done work for several three-letter agencies, the primary comment from ALL of them is the quality of imagery and output. In using the E90 on a very large crime scene, the three letter agency I was contracting to purchased several H520/E90 specifically because the E90 was far superior to the large-format quad they were using with a similar 1" sensor. Other reviews from other third parties also support this. Further, why use jpg when the camera outputs DNG?

well myself and a college both have tried test surveys (different H50/E90s) and the only way it came close to being unsalable was to do 80% overlap and crop to remove the distortion, also had to shoot in dng as jpeg were too soft, all too much time with additional processing to be of any use

If you and your colleague were using the E50 for mapping, we'd certainly agree. That's not a mapping camera, and anyone familiar with mapping would understand the reasons why. We routinely use the E90 (and ET for some purposes) for mapping for legal purposes, for projects that become court documents. There is no issue. We're happy to help if you'd like to privately share a dataset with us. There are numerous reasons you might be having issues, and we're here to help. What I can tell you is that the H520 and the E90 are a powerhouse mapping system used by professionals ranging from the Department of Defense to FBI, to many many law enforcement organizations.
