2013년 12월 6일, 가수 윤하가 겨울 스페셜 미니앨범 '서브소닉(Subsonic)'을 발표한다. 그간 '기다리다', '오늘 헤어졌어요', '내 남자친구를 부탁해' 등 겨울 감성에 어울리는 노래들을 선보이며 '윤하표 발라드'로 많은 사랑을 받아온 그녀가 올 겨울도 어김없이 계절감 물씬 느껴지는 곡들로 채워진 겨울 스페셜 미니앨범 '서브소닉(Subsonic)'을 들고 기다리던 음악 팬을 찾는다.
지난 5월, 두 번째 미니앨범 타이틀 곡 '우리가 헤어진 진짜 이유' 이후 약 6개월 만에 발표하는 '서브소닉(Subsonic)'은 지난 해 7월, 1년 6개월 만의 컴백과 함께 발매했던 윤하의 정규 4집 '슈퍼소닉(Supersonic)'의 연장선에 있는 앨범으로, 약 1년 6개월 이라는 오랜 시간의 작업 끝에 탄생시킨 수작.
'슈퍼소닉(Supersonic)' 발매 당시, 독보적인 사운드와 다양한 음악적 시도가 돋보이는 음악들로 '역시 윤하'라는 팬들의 찬사를 받으며 자신만의 음악을 구축해온 윤하는, 그의 연작인 앨범 '서브소닉(Subsonic)'으로 그 행보를 이어갈 예정이다.
특히, '우리가 헤어진 진짜 이유', '멀리서 안부'등 직접 만든 곡들로 작곡 실력을 인정받으며 싱어송라이터로 거듭난 윤하는 이번 앨범에서도 '시간을 믿었어', 'Home'을 직접 작사, 작곡하며 노래를 부르는 가수만이 아닌 뮤지션으로의 음악적 역량 또한 십분 발휘했다.
총 7곡이 수록된 이번 스페셜 미니앨범 '서브소닉(Subsonic)'은 그 동안 윤하가 한 번도 시도하지 않았던 장르의 곡은 물론, 다양한 음악적 스펙트럼을 엿 볼 수 있는 곡들로 채워 정규 앨범 못지 않게 꽉 짜인 완성도를 자랑한다.
한편 윤하는 앨범 공개에 앞서 수록곡 '괜찮다'를 선공개 하며 윤하와 가장 잘 어울리는 감성 발라드라는 호평과 함께 새 앨범에 대한 음악 팬들의 기대를 불러모으기도 했다.
여기에 이번 앨범의 타이틀 곡으로 낙점 된 '없어'에는 실력파 아티스트 이루펀트(키비(Kebee), 마이노스(Minos))를 피쳐링으로 참여시켜 레트로와 트랜드가 혼합된, 윤하의 색다른 매력이 느껴지는 곡으로 탄생시켰다.
뿐만 아니라 이번 스페셜 앨범의 상위 버전이라 할 수 있는 정규 4집 앨범 '슈퍼소닉(Supersonic)'의 타이틀 곡 'Run'을 '서브소닉(Subsonic)' 앨범에도 재 수록, 그 동안 콘서트장에서만 선보였던 소편성 악기구성의 스튜디오 레코딩 버전으로 새롭게 편곡해 담아, 팬들에게 특별함을 선사했다.
