give a year of use and the battery will be dead so it will need a generator at one point .... its been 10 years now or so every time when I carry my phones or tablets I always needed bunch of power banks and feels like I am carrying a portable generator with me just for a slim crap that barely does anything useful ... I "love" it how companies keep boasting about how things are getting smaller and slimmer meanwhile the battery life basically doesn't even exist ... For example I take my phone out to take few pics of something and it cuts me off screaming at me how the battery consumption is way too high and then soon after it shuts down due to heat ... "smart phones" I think became the most dumbest useless dog s--t ever. I miss the days of having a phone for calls and txt charge it once in a week or two weeks and not be bothered about anything. I still had GPS and internet access if needed be even tho super rarely. And for photos I carried a cam in my pouch that made lightyears better pics then this new mess. Now I am carrying pants with 20 pockets and a backpack for basic garbage ... but hey the tablets and phones are slim now ...

their headphones are sick from my experiences with them, but probably never getting another speaker as it was touted to be one of the more “durable” ones and after about 2-3 years there was seriously audible sound degradation present from the speakers themselves. i wasn’t super careful with it, but also didn’t thrash it under car tires or something wild, any bluetooth speaker i owned before never had these kind of issues with audio quality though and eventually after one drop (about 1m) the speakers rattled like hell past 70% volume in lower frequencies. i thought maybe it was making contact with the outside grill but after disassembly that wasn’t the case - hopefully they’ve improved upon this in newer models at least but i still think i’ll avoid them in the future for wireless speakers bc i expected way better performance for the £70 i gave for it

The lights take a tiny fraction of the power the speakers use, unless you're playing at low volumes. If they're playing loud then the lights won't make a difference.

The soundcore motion boom was a great speaker I had for a couple years. It’s rolled off the top of my car countless times, and sometimes if I had to walk home from work I would strap it to my belt loops with towels and charge my phone and bump music while walking. It had one hard fall in the shop and it blew out the speaker. It’s done a great service while I had it, and I’m glad to see this brand on here getting some current day recognition. I hope this speaker holds up to the motion boom, considering the size difference and all.

I have the motion boom and the next one up too. Bit different sound from my JBLs but close enough. I bought them because they were cheaper I didn't want to risk trashing my JBLs in work conditions. The Soundcores indeed are solid and plenty satisfying to turn up, was a good choice. Chinese company apparently, but with German engineering and good quality control and business integrity, so I give the brand a pass.

Tbh soundcore boom 2 (plus or not) are very very good. Got a stereo of the standard boom 2 and I'm very satisfied with them. The 2 plus are for the exterior in wide open situation which barely never happen to me. Just for context, I own a 40k+ speaker and headphone system besides the boom 2, when I say they are good I know what I'm talking about.

First time I heard a Soundcore speaker was the little rectangular one from like 10 or 12 years ago. Bluetooth/wireless speakers were kind of new, and these were the first ones I've heard with better bass than typical speakers their size. They went obsolete for a while but Soundcore brought them back, unlike Bose with their nice little Soundlink speaker. Not quite Bose calibre though but still excellent. Chinese company with German engineering, and solid quality control and business integrity, gets a pass from me 👍
