let's be realistic. based on his technique, he is not a pro at jumps nor steps. i believe his mess up was not on purpose. plus, i think he has enough respect for the sport/art to not fail on purpose just to emulate a scene. that aside, yuri actually skated the whole thing without a fall so there was no reason to pick the bad performance and out of respect for the sport he obviously would have picked the perfect performance. i should also add that as much as they made yuri seem like an absolute loser for over half the anime, yuri's skill was actually top notch from the start and far superior to many real life skaters. he really was only held back by nervousness. yuri's steps are close to unrivaled too. so in reality, only the highest level skaters can actually cover yuri's and the main casts' skates to a more accurate degree.

-no offense- no, dont use him. he is still very intermediate, half the jumps are very short and unstable. he wasn't able to get low enough for the stationary spins, so it looked very unappealing. God you really don't see how fluid the movements are in the anime itself due to all the close up shots of Yuri's expression and face, coupled with the cut-away and flashbacks. But this video captures the performance so elegantly and shows just how beautiful it is and it was done so beautifully. Amazing work honestly it was such a treat to watch!

The Monochromatic Cobra yuri wasnt inspired in yuzuru, his inspiration was never specified and kubo even said he represented jpn ice skaters as a whole (plus theres a retired japanese ice skater that some of the ppl involved in the anime adore whos life takes a similar path to yuris)
