I get what Miko was saying. The landscape often gets vastly carved up in a Dragon Ball fight leaving huge gashes in the earth. It's a kind of clever analogy actually.

I love how just because of the way the Japanese language is structured, Mio and Subaru heard the "Dragonball" part before the "seems like/it was like" part so it really did just seem like Miko started talking about Dragonball out of nowhere when she was explaining it hence their confusion.

0:50 What Subaru says here about the Grand Canyon is so true. You see photos and think, "that seems cool I guess," but when you see it in person it's mind-blowing. It's really hard to convey the scale of it.
@chipmunkm4n10 күн бұрын
So true. I've visited quite a few national parks and the Grand Canyon might be my favorite.

The only time I ever went, I ended up taking a helicopter tour of it. It was kinda nice seeing the entire landscape from above, but I wish I'd been on the ground walking along the cliff edge.

The Grand Canyon has my favorite “natural page turn”. Like you can’t see it from afar cause of the trees and, well, cause it’s a canyon. But then you finally get to the rim and it’s just wow.
@Polymathically9 күн бұрын
Yup. I'm a nature and travel photographer, and I was lucky enough to visit the Grand Canyon a few times throughout my life. I usually have people or a tree somewhere off to the side in the shot to convey scale, but even that doesn't do the Grand Canyon justice. My favorite part was just before sunset, when the sun turned all the cliffs varying shades of red and orange. It looked like an unbelievably massive painting.

The thing I’m most proud of as an American is our natural beauty and national parks. Super happy to see some of the Holo girls get to experience that. Also Miko’s point about the wide open skies is super interesting. It’s def something I take for granted

It's the same about starry sky at night. In the city, you only see just a bunch of stars; but in the countryside, the difference is shocking.

As an Arizonian, it's too bad they didn't have the time to take the mule train down. It's one thing to see it at the top it's another going down to the bottom and the mules are the safest way to travel.

I'm so glad that they were able to see the Grand Canyon. It's one of those places that makes you wonder about the world and explore it in the best way. I hope that they're inspired to see more outside of Japan now. If only they had more time, they could've seen Mighty 5 in Utah, Rocky Mountain in Colorado, or go back to California for Yosemite, Sequoia, King's Canyon, etc. I've done tons of traveling, hiking, photography, and road tripping all over the world, but the national parks here in the US always feel special. And Subaru is right; pictures don't do the Grand Canyon justice. I was lucky enough to visit a few years ago (even came from Vegas like them), and stayed from mid morning to dusk. The Grand Canyon at sunset is a prime example of nature as art.

@0:17 I know they're just having fun and taking the piss. But, to be fair to Miko, I don't think they have a "high dessert" type of biome in JP do they? Like something similar to what you would see in the East CA, AZ, Utah, NV area? It's a pretty distinctive dry / dessert type of region with it's own unique atmosphere and aesthetics.
@Polymathically9 күн бұрын
Nope, the closest thing they have are the Tottori Sand Dunes. And yeah, the American Southwest is pretty unique. If only had they more time, Utah would've blown their minds.

this would make great video or eps of visiting all kinds of places in america like the state's parks or places with weird things like worlds largest cheese wheel. it can also be in japan too kind what watame does but more of a seeing what they see like stuff like a view from the skytree or going to the places some anime use. the anime pilgrimage sites
