I felt sure Yusei would be better once he came to the Astros. They know what they're doing with pitching. Yusei has been so good, even better than I expected.

The Astros as an organization is very good at seeing what each other is doing, and understanding what they as individuals can do to help each other become better at whatever their roll is, from Players to Coaches to the Management to the Owner.

I was for the Kikuchi trade from the start, and not because I knew he'd be great. I just trusted the organization more than I did/do know-it-all Reddit, Twitter armchair managers/GMS, and even the baseball analysts who acted like it was such a bad deal. Everyone annoyed me. Kikuchi is awesome, and I'm glad Loperfido is gone. I was never interested in '25, '26, or '27. I want a World Series *this year*. We may or may not get it, but I want(ed) to make the moves for it now, not worry about what Loperfido, Wagner, or Bloss might be in two to five years.

best rotation in the league ?? we’re still missing Javier, Garcia, Urquidy, & McCullers 😭😭
@MayorofthecityАй бұрын
Yeah but Brown, Arigehti, Kikuchi, Blanco, And Valdez come on the only bad guy on our team right now in starting pitching is verlander
@davidhenson6337Ай бұрын
McCullers is done. He's been great in the regular season (when healthy) but he's never been a big game pitcher. When you pitch for the Astros you have to show up in big games. Each new injury he gets makes it less likely he'll ever reach that level.
@JRABBITTTАй бұрын
@@davidhenson6337 McCullers still to this day isn't a starter, he's a closer. Always has been, who knows if he retires with some dignity.
@anthonymartinez0865Ай бұрын
@@JRABBITTT What are you on? Lance has been a starter a huge majority of his career.
@JRABBITTTАй бұрын
@@anthonymartinez0865 What I mean is this. In '17 he was in the bullpen. After moving into the starting rotation, he has no endurance. No other "Starter" around the league stays on the IL as much as LMJ. He's meant to pitch late in games, not start them.
@marcusvalle47Ай бұрын
Let’s not forget, his change up looks to be much better now too, even though he doesn’t throw it as much.
@chopkongАй бұрын
Since the Astro's horrible start, they turned it around beginning April 27th; Since that time, the Astros lead the majors in wins and ERA, and lead the AL in batting. And they did all this with 6 starting pitchers out: Garcia, Urquidy, McCullers, Javier, Verlander (until a few weeks ago) and JP France. If all our pitchers are healthy next year watch out.

Nothing new under the sun with the Stros. Just look at their track record. First with Charlie Morton, Ryan Pressly, Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole and now Kikuchi.
