This is public transit, not limousines dude. Most electric buses are already more expensive than diesel ones on the purchasing price by a fair margin but make that up in lower operational costs. Even still, by their purpose being as a public service offering, the emphasis is mostly on providing people with a product that can be comfortable, but also strike a balance between that, and costs, so that any given local authority running bus routes can get the most service to their residents for the money they give. What good is a luxury bus gonna do if its only gonna run once an hour, when one could've had a more basic bus which runs every 10 minutes, so you can turn up and go as you please.
