Akira Shirokawa Only if it was truly equivalent. There was nothing systematic about it, the Divine Tree took body parts willy-nilly since all it needed was the compensated power. That said the system of offerings ended up being needed as we find in Season 2.

@@nopenope5836 as much as the shinju sama was on humanity’s side in the end it was the taisha who kept secrets and “managed” the Shinju. I guess it thought it was better than losing lost ones permanently. But then even Sonoko and Wasshi/Tougou found the immortality unbearable as they might as well have been living in immobile shells. Before this tho, there was no power up and a girls life was the offering. Why does immortality AND bodily functions have to be the offering? Glad that the Shinju helped Yunna as it died to defeat the other gods it had been “protecting” humanity from all along

in some way, I think the tree knew it had to keep giving Karin her Mankai. She was the only one left to keep up the fight, she didn't have to keep powering up her gauge like the others did. She was one mankai after the other. Same thing more than likely occured with Sonoko when she had to mankai 21 times. My only thing with Mankai is how it works with the disabilities. Nogi is by far a god at the point she is, we just never see what she can do due to her new role to stop heroes. But Togou from her first hero, the wraps became her legs. We never see a similarity with when they lose vision or hearing. How can they continue fighting if they can't see what they are going to hit.

Mankai is the ability for the Heroes to gain god's powers in exchange to sacrifice their physical human body. So their human body is the defense system. Probably why it's weaker.

Crystallites Kawaii I get it a bit different. Karin's Mankai is the strongest, but unlike what happens to the others, she becomes a glass cannon while Fuu, for example, can take pretty much without her Mankai failing. It's a reflection of Karin's hot-headed, all-or-nothing nature. And here, she threw carefulness to the wind and went out in what was basically a suicide attack without fear of dying. Had she been more careful, I think she'd just have needed one or two Mankais.

***** Four times in this video, I think. Karin is the only one capable of defeating a large Vertex with one hit, even in her Mankai. However, her Mankai has almost no durability. A blunt slap from the blue jellyfish-like Vertex was enough to shatter it, whereas Yuna's held in middle of Togo's gunfire and Fuu's could withstand the sun-like sphere attack in episode five for a long time. Sorry if I was disrespectful/had my facts off.

Serenity S. I mean I'm pretty sure they can all defeat a vertex in 1 hit if they tried. It's just that when Karin was fighting she happened to hit all the vertex in the areas that their heart was in. Opposed to someone like Togo for instance who completely destroyed a vertex body with her mankai but missed the heart on the first hit. Karin just seems to have more accuracy which reflects on her training.

I don’t know how it feels to be deaf, so sorry if my thought process is wrong, but it would be so cool if Karin started speaking differently because of her loss of hearing in that final moments. I imagine it feels differently when you’re not quite able to properly hear what you say. You hear her change her tone and it just adds this one extra part to the pain you feel 🙃

Actually I analyzed Karin's battle and skills, since she took out Virgo and Cancer in her first makai, she might only need one more mankai to take the most bothersome Sagittarius and she can just use her skills to blast through Scorpio and the other one. But hell, no mankai=no epic drama

Have to agree, actually (even though I love this series with a fanboy passion xD). Tougo (or Wasshi... (; ) had a much better development... and that was supposed to be a "Prequel" series. More than that, though, Nogi Wakaba Wa Yuusha De Aru... the light novel, has been the best thing I've experienced so far from this series. Now THAT was better than Madoka... It takes everything that YuYuYu and WaSuYu has been doing, but takes it ten steps further. NoWaYu is the life that this series absolutely needs.
