After come back from cancer, Yuvraj was not the same unfortunately. Player like Yuvraj comes in a generation and we were lucky to have him. Beating cancer, made come back in team India and played couple of T20 world cups(2014,2016) was not a small feat. Can't deny the fact that he was struggling in the fitness and especially when Virat became a captain, he raised the fitness bar for other players by including yo-yo test and others. As a captain Virat had long term vision for 2019 WC and he didn't see Yuvraj as a part of that WC squad especially after 2017 Champions Trophy where Yuvraj didn't have good tournament with bat, Virat immediately dropped him and started building middle order. During this phase of 2017 to WC2019 Virat gave opportunity to various batsman in the middle order but the problem with Virat, he kept changing the players after 4-5 matches. No player got proper time to get settle down in to the team. As a result, in the WC we were playing with 4 wicket keeper batsmen(KL Rahul, D Kartik, R Pant, MS Dhoni).

Yuvraj Singh made multiple comebacks after cancer and none of them materialised. 2012: He was directly drafted into Indian squad. Had a poor T20 World Cup, Pakistan and England series following which he got dropped. Only good innings was 72 (36) against Pakistan in a T20I. 2013: In his comeback series against Australia, YUVRAJ averaged 4.75 in 4 innings where he scored two ducks. Not a single good knock, phased out after T20 World Cup. 2017: Virat Kohli brought him back in ODIs under his captaincy. Yuvraj scored his best ODI score of 150, even won Player of the Match against Pakistan in Champions Trophy. However, he didn't get going post that plus a poor performance in West Indies series meant Yuvraj ended up playing his last for India. Yuvraj Singh was never the same player he was back in 2011. He had shades of brilliance but it was no longer consistent and India had to sadly move on from him. That doesn't mean his legacy will be forgotten but peddling a false agenda just to ridicule Kohli's captaincy is stupid.
