The part about the potato being "tasty" is playing on an alternate meaning of "oishii" that is so obscure, it even confuses a lot of Japanese people. Basically, Yuzuko is saying that if they were on a Japanese comedy show (which they are), getting a potato thrown at you would be a good opportunity to draw a lot of laughs. This is such a nerdy and obscure line of thinking that it takes the other two a while to get it and Yuzuko is embarrassed for having said such a thing.

Here, what's delicious is "opportunity for joke." It's linked to the word "atsui," meaning "hot," so a "hot joke" in Japanese is like what in English we'd say is a "spicy meme."
