Released as part of the soundtrack of the side-scrolling beat-'em'-up game, 'Bare Knuckle' (better known as 'Streets of Rage' in Western countries), from 1991, 'Keep the Groovin'' was the tune that accompanied the fourth stage of the game (or the 'bridge' level).
The soundtrack was composed by Yuzo Koshiro, who also composed the soundtracks of many other games, including 'Revenge of Shinobi' and 'Sonic the Hedgehog'.
Having spent a lot of my early years playing 8 and 16-bit console video games, I've always loved the killer composition of 90s video game music.
It's taken me many years to consider covering this, but here we are and this is my humble interpretation of Koshiro's tune.
