Idk if you're joking. But deathwatch are completely different to grey knights, yes they both work for the inquisition but for different departments, the deathwatch fight Xenos threats and recruit from all chapters so that the most skilled within a chapter can bring their skills to the deathwatch, they're sort of the "special forces" of spacemarines, the really cool part is when they return to their chapter they are sworn to silence of what they've seen and achieved. Grey knights were made specifically to combat demons and witches, they're all psykers and have their own unique geneseed separate from other Spacemarines, rumours are they use the geneseed of the emperor himself whereas regular Spacemarines use the geneseed of their Primarchs.

@@the98themperoroftheholybri33 no they are correct. The Inquisition has 3 main branches Malleus, Xenos and Hereticus. Each has a "chamber militant" that they can call upon when needed. Xenos can call on the Death Watch, who yes do their own stuff too like the Grey Knights Hereticus, formed after Goge Vandire's age of apostasy, were given the Sisters of Battle who were officially renamed the Adepta Soriritas at that time. Now the Sisters are also the Ecclesiarchies Chamber Militant, but that's the point the Sisters treat Ordo as the higher rank of the two. Ok, Saint Celestine is one of the most metal characters in 40k. That girl seems to be a type of reincarnating perpetual, who eventually became the equivalent of a demon (of in this case Angel/warp being) for the Emperor. Celestine remembers her original life was that of a female guardsmen on Terra fighting of the Horus Herecy 10,000 years ago. She was killed by a ship crashing into her building. However Celestine eventually reincarnated into a girl who was able to join the Sisters of Battle (meaning her parents were high ranking people who died serving the Imperium). Anyway she was a Sister Repentia, meaning no armor and just a sword... but was the only survivor of an impossible battle. Repentia are usually the first to die. So she started to become reveared. She guided everyone to the secret burial location of some sacred armor worn by a founding Sister of the Adepta Soriritas. Then she lead a Crusade. However she died... but then became a warp being rather than a regular human. Now whenever she dies, she basically wakes up in hell, one a freaking mountain of her previous lives bodies with no memories. Then proceeds to regain her memories as she looks at her old bodies qnd literally fights her way out of hell. Once once she wins can she remanifest back in our reality and continue to serve the Emperor. If she fails to escape hell even once, no more reincarnating and effectively game over... but she's died hundreds of times now over thousands of years. Also she usually consumes two regular Sisters of Battle every time, but they all volunteer as effectively once they die they go straight to the Emperor's side in the afterlife to serve him. Personally im suspicious that what happens is they're souls merge with Celestine which is why she's nearly as strong qs a Primarch now. As shes had lots of souls joining her and thousands of years of sisters effectively worshipping her as a "living saint" of the Emperor. Anyway before the Emperor created the Primarchs, his original plan for generals was perpetuals. Celestine is just if you mixed faith into what Perpetuals are, humans with stronger souls who can return after death. So reincarnating leaders of immense power. Anyways that picture was Celestine joining the battle for Cadia. She found an army of Sisters lost in the Warp for a thousand years and guided them to Cadia and helped turn the battle in the Imperiums favor (effectively the Imperium won the 13th black Crusade, until Abaddon threw a temper tantrum and crashed a black star fortress (think Death Star sized ship) into the planet). Celestine sensed this qnd helped guide tons of people to Eldar Webway... when thankfully the Eldar showed up to help evacuate the planet, because occasionally they do ally if Chaos is involved.

Lore explanations; Yuzu is right about the no Good Guys thing of certain factions are far worse than others. Your good guys would be the T'au, Craft World Eldar, Votann and Imperium while the Orkz, Tyranids, Dark Eldar and Chaos are worse. So Servitors, most are grown in Vats so most are clones. A couple are criminals but most are artificial people. Basically you can't use AI so a human brain will often serve as a CPU in it's place. The Emperor made 20 sons but ended up with 21. We don't talk about 2 and 11 because something went really wrong. As for tolerance the Imperium's not as bad as it's described. Basically if you pay your planet's tithe and support the Emperor you're usually fine. For what Yuzu is it rather bluntly comes down to can a moth humanoid successfully breed with a human and make a baby that's genetically stable. If yes then she's an Abhuman which come in a variety of forms and if not then Xeno but she could still become a protected species or join a Rogue trader's group.
@alchemicpink2392Ай бұрын
At the absolute most charitable the "good" guys would be the T'Au and 0 others. And even then mostly for the purpose of 'T'Au Find out What the Dark Eldar Mean when they Say "Cultural Exchange", Gone Wrong, Hashtag Body Horror' type stuff. The Imperium is the most frequent point of view but even the Necrons think of humanity as close to pure evil at times, and that's saying a lot. Also, in terms of Servitors: Cherub Servitors and other small servitors like door controls are mostly vat grown but anything bigger than a toddler is typically not because growing a full person takes more resources and is only done when population growth needs strict controlling, whereas lobotimizing criminals and recycling the chopped off bits as rations is comparatively cheap.

The lore explanation for why the 2nd and 11th legion are missing is because they did something so horrible and heinous that the emperor personally ordered for both of their entire legions to be centured i.e. every marine wiped out, every mention of them in any records removed, statues erected in their name for their deeds would be pulled down and destroyed. There was even a short story of some of the Primarchs objecting to this treatment of their brothers which leads to an interested confrontation between Horus and the emperor's right-hand-man, Malchador. The real reason is because in very early 40k - I'm talking like the 80s to 90s when the game was created - these two legions were left blank by Games Workshop as a "make your own space marine legion!" type of thing. After a while, GW decided to move away from that so they retconned in the lore that those two legions were blacklisted.
@Xynth25Ай бұрын
@@TaylorX-g4b The lore on what happened with them is vague...it's implied that one primarch may have gone traitor and the other been mind controlled by a xenos race, as well. As a Salamander player. Im gonna need to give some context about ALL space marine. One of the upgrades given to all of them is the ability to tan super fast to prevent skin damage. So on any world with really strong solar radiation and while out of power armor, they will tan in moments. So a white Space Marine could look Spanish or middle eastern, while a light toned black marine would look extra dark black. However after leaving the area they will also lose their tan fast. With Salamanders, simply put, this ability was slightly off. It went into overdrive, so any skin tone goes straight to charcoal black. Then never resets. Now, the Salamanders do have successor chapters, most have the same skin conditions when exposed to high solar radiation. Mind you the Mechanichus does play with the dna a bit so sometimes successors aren't quite the same. The Ashen Drakes have the same near black look, while the Iron Drakes all just go regular black and just have red tints to their eyes. The Ice Dragons keep the red eyes but have extremely pale white skin, and yes theyre from ice world. The Jade Wyverns are a newly created Primarus Marines chapter, so far no defeats have shown up yet and yes the Mechanichus messed with their dna. The Silverbacks have the charcoal black skin but golden eyes. If you want a genetically modified Salamander successor chapter, look up the Bullfrogs, long story short Space Marines can spit acid plus can secrete a gel to entomb themselves from the vacuum of Space. Well the Mechanichus fucked up and mixed the two. So the Bullfrogs have poisonous skin. Anyways Salamanders weren't retconned to being charcoal black until the Horus Herecy books in the early 2000s started releasing, before that they had white guys and brown guys with blonde hair. So I painted my models like that, I joke my Salamanders were vat grown on Earth and just hadn't been to Nocturne yet.

Henry Cavil is a huge nerd in lots of ways. He famously missed or almost missed an audition because he was raiding in WoW. He built a PC on Instagram. Famously, during an interview an interviewer tried to rope him into calling fans toxic, but he snapped back with something like "No, Fans aren't toxic. Fans are passionate and they have every right to be." Henry also proclaimed to be a huge fan of the Witcher books and games, which is why he said it was a dream come true to get the role of Geralt. He was constantly arguing with the writers and showrunners of the show to the point that they let him rewrite scenes just so he would stop. Apparently, one such scene is when Roach died (shut up about spoilers. You didn't watch it neither did I and probably never will). They wanted it to be played off as a joke or something, but Henry wouldn't let it fly because that's not how Geralt would behave. Henry understood that Roach isn't just a horse to Geralt but a companion and a friend, and rewrote the scene to be an more touching goodbye. Henry famously left the Withcher because he's a fan and the showrunners obviously aren't and he was tired of them disrespecting the lore and having to argue with them about it. Of course, they bad mouthed him after he left writing a piece saying he was hard to work with. Cavil is supposed to be producing and directing a Warhammer project for Amazon, but last I heard he might have left and/or the project is dead because if of course. It's Amazon. Look at what they are doing to LOTR lore with Rings of Power.

I mean that analogy only works if the Omnissiah was the Machine God as well as being a separate entity… but it’s good enough.
@kha4911Ай бұрын
My understanding is that it's basically kinda sorta the same thing as with the holy trinity The Father The Son The Holy Spirit The Machine God The Omnissiah The machine Spirit The machine god is the deity. The Omnissiah is his prophet ie big E. The machine spirit is the presence of the machine god permeating in all of his creations, ie all machines, therefore all machines are holy.

I'm absolutely loving your reactions to 40k. It's always fun to see people realize bit by bit just how deep the rabbit hole really goes. There's so much wild, wacky and bizarre stuff out there in 40k that makes it really exciting to explore for the first time. I also know its a long shot, but I'd love to see you try your hand at the hobby, or even do a stream going through all the tabletop models like Matara did a while back. The lore is amazing, but the models are where the real heart and soul of 40k is for me.

19:58 that part reminded me of one of my favorite quotes about the lasgun: "the lasgun has seen combat since the Emperor first commanded his armies into the great crusade, it has been in the hands of billions of men and women on thousands of worlds and has killed 99% of the enemies of mankind in the process, unfortunately for you, you're fighting the last 1%." (I am probably horribly paraphrasing the actual quote)

If anyone asks if there are women in 40k. Cause I see it every time there is a video like this. Yes, in the military there are female Guardsman, Arbities, Inquisition and in the Tech Priests (Yes even the women are Guardsmen). There are also the all-female military groups like Adeptus Sororitas and Sisters of Silence. Non-militarily there are women in all facets from the Administatum to the Ecclesiarchy.

Assuming this is still fresh, the joke about the 20/18Primarks in the lore they were two Primarks that did something so terrible they had to be erased from every bit of history all the records removed, in the real world this is so that you and are you on the table top can homebrew a space marine Legion or chapter that doesn’t come from the books that is specifically erased from history 1984 style or descendants from them, of which anyone who wants to go there, there isn’t a space marine lesion or chapter samurai inspired or Primark samurai inspired have fun with that, the chapters/legions erased from history are Ke gion two and 11 off the top of my head. Cedia is a planet that was literally on the front doorstep of a gateway of physical space to the warp, under attack 24/7 almost from Demons, and it wasn’t a question of “could it fall” only a question of when, and considering it held for 10,000+ years it wasn’t exactly something to laugh at that every day men and women with enough numbers and will could hold back the forces of hell. However all good things must come to an end, and as impressive as Cadia of a planet was, the 13th black crusade came to Cada, and against all odds it was repelled and in response, in the greatest maturity, the highest general of hell chose not to have a temper tantrum and throw a moon at the planet, of course I am being sarcastic, but as a planet broke into shards, some shards still had atmosphere temporarily, and lass gunfire could still be seen from orbit, the planet broke a part as the guard still thought, people who were evacuated before dying of a lack of atmosphere have a saying “the planet broke before the guards did,” anyone who says man has a weak will, it is the ultimate SmackDown especially to the Demons, the problem is although it’s a might be a massive ego stroke to mankind, it’s also a massive moral blow, the heavy ultra defended planet still fell, and every man woman and child who fought to defend that planet still either died or suffered so much they wish they died, Kedia is a genuine loss for humanity and every other race that just doesn’t have a fetish for fighting or everyone else suffering for their amusement

They are both more in depth than Bricky's overviews as they go in depth on individual events and even individual characters. I heartily recommend you give them a look.

I think the thing I love most about the Sister of Battle is that they exist because of a loophole. Quick summary that is by no means the entire lore for this, but basically this guy within the Administratum (the bureacracy of mankind) named Goge Vandire took complete control of said Administratum, executed the leader of the Ecclesiarchy (the church of mankind) for treachery, and then assumed the role of leader of the Administratum and Ecclesiarchy simultaneously. This effectively made him the most powerful human in the Imperium because he controlled the Ecclesiarchy, the Imperial Guard, the Astra Telepathica (Imperial Sanctioned psykers), and the Officio Assassinorum (Imperial Assassins). This followed with a bloody reign of Vandire dishing out insane judgements to anyone he felt was against him or the Emperor who he claimed to receive visions and messages from as he went from planet to planet subjugating it under his rule. One planet he came across had an extremely zealous all women cult called the Daughters of the Emperor and they practiced ancient martial arts in honor of the Emperor. Vandire admired their skills and offered them the position as his personal bodyguards which they eventually accepted and were then named the Brides of the Emperor. Vandire's reign of terror goes on and eventually their is a civil war to wrest control away from the him which led to a siege of his palace on Terra. The Custodes who were initially impartial to this conflict made contact with the Brides of the Emperor and offered their leader, Alicia Dominica, a chance to enter the Emperor's throne room and have the Emperor himself show her how evil Vandire really was. Dominica entered the chamber, presumably communicated with the Emperor, exited, and then immediately broke her oath to Vandire by executing him for now knowing what he had done. Following his death, the High Lords of Terra enacted the Decree Passive which stated that the Ecclesiarchy could have "no men under arms" which disbanded all military forces of the Ecclesiarchy, except the Daughters of the Emperor since they were all women and did not technically violate the decree. The High Lord of Terra allowed this smaller and more manageable force within the Ecclesiarchy and thus the Adepta Sororita were born.

Ten thousand years ago the emperor built a big as golden drip spaceship and flew it to Mars. The Martian cults had a prophesy about the Omnissiah bringing salvation and upon seeing the big ass golden drip ship they said "yeah this guy is probably the Omnissiah" and thus they joined the Imperium.

Inquisitors are generally very serious about their job and won't do something rash without a good reason, or some evidence to support their choices. They're not infallible, and there ARE some corrupt inquisitors, but you don't become an inquisitor without serious oversight, education, and proving yourself capable of the job at some point. Also, all inquisitors watch each other. They're extremely vigilant for internal corruption because they are VERY aware of how quickly the power their wield could be turned to Chaos. Rogue Inquisitors tend to isolate themselves due to this, so you're unlikely to get corrupt inquisitors who work regularly with others, work in a guard regiment, or work with like the Black Legion.

13:48 He's still alive, but he is only being kept alive by the golden throne. His mind is in the warp powering the astronomican. Since he was mortally wounded, he isn't present there in the physical sense, so he can't really do anything or talk. He can revive himself, but doing so requires he die first, which would screw humanity big time since he's the only thing allowing interstellar travel

The "Content creators reacting to Bricky's Warhammer lore" meta is great. It's been a long time coming. Welcome to the Hobby! @1:25 that TTS did recommend a good game, but if you want a Warhammer game that actually is tactical combat with Deep RPG elements, play the new Rogue Trader game. Mechanicus is more like a toned down XCOM. Still great. And the Chaos Gate Demon Hunters is a legit Xcom clone done perfectly.

the best description of the differences between Gork and Mork is one is about punching and the other is about punching when your foes back is turned XD and if it remember correctly one of the implants Space Marines get makes their melanin much more effective at blocking all forms of radiation instead of just UV and Salamanders homeworld has regions of intense radiation and volcanic activity which are often used as places for their forges and training centres which increased their melanin levels to the degree it so they are almost fully immune to the radiation in those regions. the Assassins uses a type of Armor called a bodyglove which has some.... interesting properties - its a sort of mix of Kevlar and other strong polymers somehow made into a sprayable latex like material... its is sprayed onto them and also comes in cans, its breathable and can even filter out toxins, able to supply the wear with a limited air supply for a short time (can even resist the expose of the vacuum of space) and last of all...... its completely edible and has quite a high calorie value XD
