Brian paved a way for Hanyu, he solidified Hanyu's foundation as a Great Skater he is now and for that to know; I hope Yuzuru will look back in the future and includes Brian Orser as a part of his glory.

Thank you for this mash-up! I was a chorus girl in a Nutcracker On Ice with Brian as the star. I can say from a first hand account, what a wonderful person Brian is! He signed every autograph, he treated all the skaters as friends, he was so nice (and funny too!) It is no surprise to me that he has coached so many skaters to greatness.

Just watched this today and it is really lovely, and makes me feel sad for how much things have changed in such a short time. Yuzuru's latest injury just breaks my heart. I wish he had had Brian there to keep an eye on him and not let him overtrain. That quad axel, grrr.

@@hohopablo8101 Because of COVID restrictions, Yuzuru has been training alone in Japan. In early November he injured himself in a fall - the right ankle again - probably while working on his quad axel. He pulled out of one competition, but came to the Japanese Nationals and was amazing. Now headed for his third Olympics, and I'm praying no more injuries.

I get what you mean...Although Brian Boitano won the Olympics and Orser "lost" - Brian Orser went on to do great things in figure skating in his life after the Olympics - but Brian Boitano did not. Right after the Olympics, I guess one would have said Boitano won the "Battle of the Brians", but judging it now, in 2024, I would say that in the end Brian Orser definitely won the "Battle of Brians" (if it ever really was a battle between them).

The ‘88 Olympics is one of the best Sports events of all time to me….the quality of skating from all was simply outstanding….the talent that year…..Wilson And McCall, , Klimova and Ponomarenko, Gordeeva and Grinkov, Brian Boitano and Brian Orser, Christopher Bowman, Kurt Browning, Caryn Kadavy, Michael Slipchuck, Elizabeth Manley, Katarina Witt, Jill Trenary, Midori Ito, Charlene Wong ( who wore my favorite skating dress to this day!) Victor Petrenko, , Alexander Fadeev, Debi Thomas, Paul Wylie, the Duchesnays, Bestemianova and Bukin, Bennington and Johnston, Christine Hough and Doug Ladret, Brasseur and Eisner just so much incredible talent.
