I love how the cheering starts from the end of his final jump and never quite stops until he finishes the spin, whereupon the noise grows deafening. The crowd knows that he had a successful skate!

this vantage point is really good to see how fast he is, how beautifully constructed the program was, his ice coverage. I've watched this performance hundreds of times and it never fails to move me, especially when you think about EVERYTHING that happened leading up to this... the asthma attack a couple of weeks before the championship, the silly mistake in the jump combo in his short program, the 30' 1-point penalty, how devastated he was for having placed in 5th after the SP, how badly he wanted to get his World Champion crown back after two consecutive world championship competing injured and losing to Javier... but above all, how ISU started to underscore him after he broke the IJS system with SEIMEI, in 2015. Thank you for uploading this. Your view gave me two things I can't get from tv coverage. First, that quad loop at the beginning looks like its floating, almost defying gravity, and the tv coverage is too close for that to truly come across. Second, the speed and coverage across the ice is phenomenal. Again, everything is too close on tv to understand how fast these skaters move. I love having both perspectives to watch.
