I still remember an interview Cournoyer when asked if he was worried about playing Philadelphia in the playoffs and their physical way of playing and Yvan said: You can’t hit what you can’t catch. :-)

I lived through the best hockey by far. Today's generation can't understand the sheer love of the game back then.

Cournoyer (road runner) had an assist on the great "Henderson" goal that shook the hockey world. Beep Beep !

This is why Yvan was nicknamed Roadrunner. From 0 to 20 in 3 seconds.

Tape to tape from Brad Park turns into an awesome goal from the Roadrunner! This was a key goal especially after the loss in Game 1.

The jump he gets on the defenseman is still breathtaking nearly half a century later, when a lot of footage from that era looks like the players were skating through glue.

Ragulin must have thought Cournoyer would have to hold up at the blue line, but when Park hit him in full stride with that great pass, it was all over.

The most amazing thing to me about this goal is actually Park's passing. It looks like it could have been easily intercepted but he made a tape-to-tape pass.

Cournoyer and Park looked like they had played together for years.

The roadrunner on a tear. Never get tired of this.

In the context of when in the game and series this was scored it was a very important goal. It was a moral boosting goal and helped the canadians to win the all important 2nd game. If they had gone down 2-0, it could have gotten ugly.
