Fun fact: The golf club area was originally the Miri General Hospital before they moved to the main land... There was a ferry service near the Chinese Temple to the hospital... My Father admitted at Old Miri General Hospital with the Ferry services back in the 1980’s when I was 5 years old.He met an accident at Baram,Long Lama far too long journey for them to carry him out under the Lorry’s logs with the car engine oil dripping onto his legs and burn,the doctor almost amputate his right leg unfortunately my mother did not agree,skin draft done.We back and forth from Miri/Brunei/Limbang to visit him at the hospital along with my younger brother when he was 2 years old.I still have the memories about the Ferry ⛴ it was huge and big,I was too tiny small.Memories of I seen my father leg tied-up with a plaster.”MIRI” reminded me lots of incident in the past.Thank God today my father walking even with a limping walk,that’s alright.We monitor his wound up to today and he does his own dressing/treatment at home due to the sensitivity of the leg skin tissue injured/burn.

11:27 "Kampung Tidak Tidur" is now "Kampung Wireless". Hmmm... 12:49 "No air-conditioning" is common. We built our traditional houses in such a way that it has natural cooling. Check out the holes just below the roofing. Wooden houses are also cool because it doesn't trap heat as much as an air tight built houses. 17:45 It's odd in Malaysia though... it's not like in the Middle East. Non-Muslims aren't actually encouraged (if not not allowed) to greet using that Arabic greetings which is why they thought that you're a Muslim when you do greet them in such a way.

You must bring your family to one of the longhouses.. You are curious to know so it's now or never to experience and be with them. Maybe check out if there is long house air bnb or in Malaysia we call it as "homestay" in one of the longhouses. If I'm not mistaken, longhouses are build with individual houses for each of the family, each house have their own bedrooms, toilets, kitchens etc, but they will have open sitting area for the people to gather and have events in front of their each houses. All these under one big and long roof. The long houses are actually are very big and spacious community space. I'm also very impressed. Please at least try to visit one of them. Cheers 🎉

Usually animals that are carnivors which have sharp teeth or that are danger to human, we cant eat that and consider it as haram. So, we dont eat crocodiles unless you are in desperate situation where you cant find any halal meat or you are stranded in the forest with no where to find halal meat or fish, then you can have it with a small amount to sustain your life. Hope this help.

Actually for Maliki Madhab(Maliki School of Thought) they can eat crocodiles meat.Eating crocodile meat is a controversial issue. Scholars have differed on the ruling for eating crocodile meat. Those who say it’s permissible look at it as a creature of the sea. What they mean by a creature of the sea is that any creature that lives in water, whether it’s an ocean, sea, river or lake.Those who look at it being an amphibious animal that has teeth, they consider these teeth to be type of the canines that are prohibited.

Visit the coastal fishing villages of the Bajau Laut in Sabah who are undocumented migrants from the Philippines. Both Sarawak and Sabah have mainly undocumented Indonesians speaking in Indonesian accent from Kalimantan. Cats were not the prophet's favorite pets as the prophet did care for the well-being of all animals.
@yvesthesleeve Жыл бұрын
Thanks, I am looking into these fishing villages... yes, the prophet actually did like cats a lot, it is mentioned numerous times. Are cats loved in Islam? Unlike dogs, cats have been revered for centuries in Muslim culture. So much so, that one of Prophet Muhammad's companions was known as Abu Hurairah (Father of the Kittens) for his attachment to cats. The Prophet himself was a great cat-lover- Muezza was the name of his favourite cat....

It's the mindset and normality of those who live there which is called squatters. Nothing much the government can do to educate and transform the residents habits and mindset and that is why it become a prolonged struggle by the government to do the best they can to make changes...sorry that you have to witness the mess but the most importantly, the people are humble, kind and genuine. You see, none of them hostile even if you bump into them while they just woke up and seep their coffee while watching towards the river...
