I'd much rather deal with RNG while trying to find a singular item to best upgrade an already usable weapon, than deal with it while trying to find 4+ items of an exact set, that have exact stat combinations, and that need to upgrade in exact places to even be called "usable" to begin with

Smart money is on August. They took out a permit to release the game and it expires at the end of August, so if they don't get it out by then it's going to cost them extra and be a big hassle.

Arknights is the only gacha I've played where I buy packs I don't really need just to support the devs. Endfield looks like it's going to be the same. I actually bought one of the anniversary packs that just came out just because Endfield is looking so good.

@@Reldan Arknights is probably the only Gacha I play where packs actually feel reasonably priced for what they offer I do hope this trend continues in Endfield alongside the abundance of skins, because I firmly believe it's those two things that allow AK to stay as F2P friendly as it is

@@Konpekikaminari Most of what I'm seeing so far looks like they're just doing the same thing they did in AK for monetization, just with a game that should reach a larger playerbase. I am very hopeful. When Hoyo launches a new game you know they're going to keep doing what works for them. I don't think Hypergryph is looking to try and change their successful formula very much either. It'll be the kicker if all of the skins are buyable with the premium currency you can earn in-game. That's the only thing I don't know if we'll still see.

There is a weapon banner, but yes, you shouldn’t spend any gacha currency on it cuz you get a bunch for free (from character banner and weeklies). People complain about it cuz you have a 25% chance to get the rate up, but like, it doesn’t even matter cuz the 6 star rate is 4% (which is insane), there’s pity at 40 pulls and guaranteed rate up at 80 pulls.

You've been misinformed. To set the record straight, this is how it works (feel free for anyone to correct/add to it): - There is a weapon banner. - Every pull has a 4% chance to obtain a 6* weapon (compared to the 0.8% standard in Hoyo games/WuWa) - There is a 25% chance to get the rate up weapon, and 75% chance to get a standard 6* weapon - At 40 pulls you're guaranteed a 6* drop, at 80 pulls you're guaranteed the *rate-up* 6* weapon - Pity carries over, but guarantee does not - You can get 67 ish pulls just from the end-game mode every month - You can get additional pulls from the character banner In conclusion, this system is great. You get the guaranteed rate-up at 80 pulls (just like WuWa), except A) the rate per pull is 5x higher and B) you get weapon pulls passively from just playing the game.
