I lost my son when he was 9 months old. He would have been 23 years old today, but I have never been able to get over it. Each time I see his age mates, I weep. It's not easy. No matter how May Edochie tries to feel strong, deep down in her heart, she's weeping. 😢 I can relate to her pain. People should pray for her, please

I am product of a polygamous marriage, I witnessed and felt the trauma, betrayal and manipulation associated with it. When it was my time to settle down, the man who fathered my daughter cheated on, betrayed me and and even sired other kids with other women but, when I discovered I had to walk away. I can't let history repeat itself on me. Polygamy is a trauma, nothing good comes with it, it just attracts health issues (STDs, STIs), loss of trust in love and all sorts of evil things like witchcraft, envy, jealousness, etc.
@Ekwy20237 ай бұрын
Sorry for what you went through, but honestly many people are in undeclared polygamy without even knowing it. Most so called monogamous marriages in Africa have all these issues and many more. The main issue if you ask me is the double standard in our society when it comes to issues of men and women, that’s what needs to be fixed if we are honest. Fixing it will begin with what you did, knowing what you can take or not take as a woman; it’s a personal decision. Did we not see Oba of Ife marry 6 educated and high class women in one month? But that’s their choice. So if you ask me generalization is not even helping us; we now have a new and more dangerous culture; “baby mamas” everywhere (glorified polygamy), is it helping our children? God have mercy!

Yes, it's true that some of us come from 2nd or 3rd wives home, but it doesn't mean we're going to advocate for it because some of us are struggling to heal from our childhood traumas caused by polygamy, it's a let down that a woman for that matter can validate such toxic relationships, Neze you're right about that my son is the same age as May's late son and l felt her pain so much especially when l looked at my child during that mourning period, it still hurts a bit when l think about it and l see my boy, l am disappointed by Yvonne.

Yvonne really lost a chance to keep quiet!🤨 The apology was just a way to limit the damage her words could have done to her name or carrier. She is certainly not convinced that what she said was wrong otherwise she would have thought twice before talking the way she did and she talked with such conviction! How though can she think that many women being concubines, mistresses, second or third wives make it right for a man to cheat. It is like saying because many people are buying stolen articles, the thief is not doing anything wrong by stealing! For me her answer revealed who she herself is. By excusing and understanding Yul she was trying to validate her own choices!!

Just yesterday as i was having a conversation with a lady about the death of a young boy, i remember how my brother was murdered, how he must have thought about his parents and siblings not seeing him again while he was being murdered 😭 in a bush by wicked people, how he must have wondered if his body will be found, but to God be the glory his body was found, though he had died. Each time I see children that were of same age with him or that looked like him somehow, i cry. I cried so much yesterday like he just died. Even though i have moved on, i cannot stop thinking of my brother. Yet, i don't think my dad or male folk in my family remembered they once had a son like my brother. Yvonne apologised because of the back lash she faced. She spoke with jet full chest, and she needs to stand by it instead she's blaming the host. May is indeed blessed.

Neze you are right 100%, the people that came from polygamous family stands better chances of advising people against it because they have experienced it and they know all the dangers that comes with you.

For the fact we are from polygamous doesn't mean we like or want it for ourselves. We were kids caught in the drama and offered no choice or say in our parents decision

Neze you have really spoken so well. I have learnt something just now. So when people see something they cannot understand or believe is possible they start to fight against it. Nice one!

👏👏👏. Well presented, Neze. I can't imagine this kind of divorce. It would be a nightmare for me. The fact that it's public, everybody, and their mother have an opinion. Not allowed to grieve in peace. Yvonne husband divorced her quietly. That's how it should be. Yvonne got carried away. I wish her well😊

That’s so true Neze. My 6 year old son passed 7 years ago and when I come across similar situations, I put myself in the position and would be very tearful.

Yvonne’s opinion on polygamy is a way of validating her friends who are in polygamous marriages and she has quite a number.

Very well. She has many men as friends who are into polygamy and she is trying to justified them and pleased them. Which is totally wrong. No matter how somebody may be close to you, when he and she doesn't what is wrong, that truth should be told. No reasonable human beings should justify what YUL did to MAY in anyway. Not to even talk of a woman supporting the nonsense YUl did.

We are not all perfect. God is the Righteous and Ultimate Judge. Yvonne indeed has stepped on the cobra. Men accusing their own brothers of adultery have a lot of "skeletons" to hide. Women truly harbor more emotions as compared to men. Bitterness and envy lead to more destructions. Let us be very careful about our statements.
@victoriaabamensah30057 ай бұрын
I totally disagree with you that women harbor emotions than men…A woman gets hurt and she cries the pains out and she is free.Men on the other hand will keep the pains within.One reason men die early as compared to women
