Yvonne Strahovski's acting in this show is top notch. You never know who she's going to be from one scene to the other. Also, she kinda has to name that kid Nichole. Even if it's a boy. Yep.

I loved Yvonne Strahovski on Dexter. So when I had seen she was a lead character on A Handmaid’s Tale, I was so happy to see her again! She’s wonderful! The show is absolutely brilliant. It takes the original book to a further dimension.

She is a great actor. Of all she is good at, I have to mention one. She a lot of times in season 2, and even more in season 3, switch from evil to gentle and human. Sometimes so powerful that I get tears of relief in my eyes. And than she can switch back in a second. I find this remarkable strong acting.

To say her husband is a lucky guy is obvious. I wish her all the luck with the baby. Glad she got the Emmy nod. After the "Handmaid's Tale" has its run I hope she gets to play in one of the British classics; I'd suggest Tess, but I want to see her in a role where she ends up happily ever after. I also want to see her play a scientist. And I want to see her play in a really sexy raunchy comedy. I hope she has a long career; I'll never tire of seeing her on the screen.

I guess season 3 will be delayed with Yvonne's childbirth. Can't have the main character of the show pregnant when supposedly she cannot. It is a good show and it shows that she is more than just a hot action star which was most, but not all of her roles before this show as 24 and Chuck were definitely action, and Dexter had a few stunts as well. Probably I, Frankenstein for her was the first time she was just acting and not doing stunts.

the rape scene was awful and had no purpose at all
@edmondzippo63706 жыл бұрын
I'd say that the purpose was to show how Fred and Serena's ideology has taken them so far from real and good human values that they'd go to these lenghts to trigger Offred's labor. You could say that the whole show has been telling us that, but I'd counter that we yet had to see how far in their horror they could go. But that's just my perception.
@bbustin46026 жыл бұрын
Well actually the "purpose " was to try and naturally induce labor. That is a proven fact the sex is a natural way to induce labor. So yes there was a purpose, very shitty though.

I hate the American accent that Yvonne adopts when she's talking with Americans. She's Australian! She actually has her own Australian accent when she's talking with Aussies. What is she doing! Is she a shallow chameleon in her own personal life, as well?! I've never known any other actors (any nationality!) to lose their own national identity at will. Australians are notorious for it! Thank you Nicole Kidman for remaining true to your own country! Living in America for years, that Aussie accent is still evident! Thank you Nicole. A real person. A good actress, and a real person. Yvonne gave a brilliant performance in Handmaids, btw. Excellent acting.
@jessicawheaton95616 жыл бұрын
Dee Morris I don’t think it’s intentional. She has spent so long using an American accent (150 episodes on Chuck) and her husband is American as well that her normal accent has changed a bit. There are times I notice it with Emily Blunt in interviews although she gets to use her normal English accent in many of her roles. I would bet that when she is in Australia or just around others with an Australian accent that hers becomes stronger.
@birdysayhi6 жыл бұрын
Honestly as someone that has moved around a lot. This is rather common, you adapt your accent to your surroundings without even knowing that you are doing it.
@sorscha13085 жыл бұрын
She must just find it tough to be one or the other, everyone knows she's an Aussie, but she lives & works & largely interacts on a daily basis with Americans. Gillian Anderson doesn't sit on the fence for instance. When she's in the UK she uses a full on English accent & when she's in America she's American.
