I really enjoy this channel. Doing crafts like this was recommended to work through some PTSD. The way you explain things, the tone of your voice etc... is just calming. Also helpful in learning to adapt to only having partial use of my left hand. I'm incorporating a lot of this stuff into other projects, it really helps expand my creativity. Best channel of this type on KZbin! Thank you!

Thanks for the confirmation Doug. Am currently challenged with the old childhood PTSD as I had a cancer scare that turned out great but can't dial it back YET and was hoping this craft/art will be soothing. Crocheting sure wasn't. Am tickled pink by how sweet and the great teacher Yvonne is.

I too use this as myself prescribed therapy for PTSD. I lost my 19 year old son, David, 15 years ago, and after screaming at God for two years, I found this. It calms me; it helps me focus on something besides the flashes in my brain.

I just made these today using peridot as the center bead, copper seed bead as a spacers and three smaller peridot beads on each side. They came out beautifully! Really like the weight and feel of the 16g wire.. had to use 26 g wire to hang the beads as the peridot crystal holes are so small. Did the variation loop as opposed to the spiral. Looking forward to showing them off! Thank you for your clear instructions and awesome design!!!

Hello Yvonne Williams. Yes when you look at the gemstone name it can be difficult. This is how I remember and say it. Cowl Said Knee. Hope that helps.

Yvonne, I wet my steel wool and use a dab of Dawn dish detergent. It keeps the steel wool dust from flying around. I polish over a plastic tray that is easily rinsed off. Then I polish with my rotary tool with a 3/4" Carbon Steel Brush. Then I may tumble the piece for a beautiful shine depending on the stones I use. Great video. Thanks!

Ultra Polish Pads, available on Amazon, do a great job of polishing after steel wool. Great for polishing in between shows or wear also. One pad goes a long way.

I know this is older, but I when I use steel wool, (I actually avoid like the plague) I put a piece of paper under my area for a quick clean up. I also move all of my tools away from it because I do a lot of pickling and don't want the steel to contaminate anything. Great design and wonderful tutorial. Thank you for sharing.

Cal-sed-duh-née is the pronunciation and it is a beautiful stone and word. I love the earrings. It looks like quite a sizable outlay of money to get the necessary tools and wires, but such a gorgeous artisan’s hobby. In your case, a profession, because everyone would pay good money for those earrings. I cannot believe how beautifully they came out.

To avoid the mess from the steel wool I suggest that you work inside a bag like a large Ziploc bag. Large enough for both your hands and the piece to fit in comfortably. All the shavings go into the baf; easy peasy throw away!
@denisestover24162 жыл бұрын
For your steel wool try the 0000 fine steel wool. It is smaller or thinner and not as messy.

Easy Cleanup: wrap a strong magnet in a piece of papertowel, collect all the iron dust with it, unwrap the paper towel around the collected metal dust and toss it in the bin. That doesn't work for the pliers, but for the bench. :)

For containing the steel wool fragments I have two ideas. One would be to spread newspaper before you work so that you can just roll up and toss the mess.
