be careful that oil feed you blocked off with a bolt might leak if you didn't put a copper washer behind it. had that problem on one 2j i worked on. put washer on and it was good

Much progress! I would pull off the upper water neck have the two small ports cut off and welded close, it's aluminum so of aluminum weld it. Please be careful not to damage those turbine blades. Good luck & I'll be watching!👍✌👆

The turbo return line and feed lines should be directly up and down. Having the center section clocked like you have it can created oiling return problems as well as oil starvation. I advise rotating the center section so that the feed is at 12 and the return is at 6 oclock. For heat management look into DEI's products i personally use a lot of their Titanium exhaust wrap and turbo blanket.

You can turn the exhaust housing how ever you want. Also the feed is not that important to be straight and so on. You have to make sure the center assembly is rotated so that the drain is pointed downwards.

Make sure you guys throw some clamps on those bolts blocking off the hoses. Make sure all the oil fittings are tight as well, a sad way to loose your turbo and engine for not tightening the an fittings. That heater hose loop also looks like it isn't heat/pressure rated. I would look for an actual heater hose with a 180 turn at the parts store with the right size. Looks good guys

u guys should look into carbon fiber body filler its the same as frberglass and bondo body filler but its much stronger and it wont crack down the road after u paint the panel. the one i saw was like a black paste looking type and u use it the same way as any body filler with the same hardener

The center of the turbo should be clocked so that the oil feed and drain are as close to straight up and down as possible so the oil can flow better.

PLEASE, just get some of the rubber block off caps with a clamp to replace the plugged off hoses with bolts and rtv in them before you finish. They are cheap and easy to get. They work much better and are way more reliable..

Aren't you going to ruin the O2 sensor when it's so close to the turbo? When I installed my wideband in the Miata the manual stated it should be at least 30 inches down from the head.

On my Turbo smart the stock placement for the first O2 sensor (not wideband) is like max. 30cm after the turbo and the exhaust header before the turbo is just like 20-30cm long as well.

Don't use loctite on fittings, if you don't want to have it inside the holes. Imagine you glue your bearings shut.

You might need a restricter for your oil feed. The oil drain you should have cut shorter.

should have used an 1/4npt to an 4 adapter on the turbo for oil, then put a 90 degree end on the hose, no need for taking off compressor housing to thread in that adapter then.
