Actually, in the original novel, Joe in second life tried everything that Ming dislikes to discourage Ming, because he sensed Ming’s interest and suspicion towards him. He wanted nothing to do with Ming, because he was really grateful for the second life and decided to live a complete new life Mine immune. What pisses me of the most is the fact that Ming spends his time treating people as stand-in. He treated the original Joe as Tong’ stand-in and he’s treating this Joe as the original Joe’s stand-in. If he really realized that he loved Joe he shouldn’t let the new Joe be his replacement.

Me trying to explain my Stand-In to a non BL fan friend 🤣: So basically this is the story of a Stand-in that became the stand-in of a stand-in. And there is this guy who at first was in love with an actor but he didn't know he was actually in love with a stand-in's back (he didn't know it was the stand-in's back, he thought it was the actor's back). This guy used the stand-in to feel close to the actor. At some point, the stand-in discovered he was just a stand-in and felt bad. So, he dies in an accident because he didn't want to be the stand-in anymore but he came back to life in another body and became the stand in of himself for the guy who doesn't know that the new stand-in is the former stand-in in another body. 🤣🤣
