Nice work.Heres a time saver tip. Chuck your tube in the lathe. Give it a light shot of blaster or wd 40. grab it with a scotch brite and work your way end to end and mill scale is gone. Way faster and easier than sanding. Be sure to deburr the ends first.

You could also use an old style narrowed VW front end with the trailing arms. They really smooth out hard front end hits compared to a-arms.

Is there a reason you do the weird upper a arm the way you do instead of just using a single piece of tubing?
@jamelvaughn20102 жыл бұрын
I hope he replies.. but a single tube wouldnt have enough front to back stability... it could be a single tube but would need a long tube welded into a T on the other end and probably gussets.

I can see you're obviously slam packed busy. I'm the dude with the kilowatt wanting dual control arms front and rear. I've collected the front upper and lowers, front spindles, calipers, rotors and wheels and tires (I've also got the rear wheels and tires) ITP 10x5 4/110 with SunF A021 19x6-10 tires ITP 10x8 4/4 with SunF A021 225/45-10 tires As a reminder I e still got that Harley Sportster 1200cc low mileage bike that runs and drive great mechanically. No title on the motorcycle itself. My nephew purchased the bike and then find the title a few years back. The title loan company closed up shop I'm assuming after bankruptcy never to be seen again and no effort was ever put towards retrieving the title. So I wouldn't have any clue of how to go about getting one. I was more or less thinking of the drivetrain out of the bike myself would be something you could use on your big buggy build. Either way hit me back up through email if you see this. Keep up the amazing work man you're doing great

I hate to say it, but those upper control arms look weak. I think you are going to tear the tabs off of the frame, when you nose dive off a jump.
@jamelvaughn20102 жыл бұрын
I understand its a go kart.. but yes... I really dislike the seamed tube and or the butt welded pipe on the upper. Still seen red build some crazy shit. And Trust the process..
@terryj2572 жыл бұрын
@@jamelvaughn2010 it's how close the pivot points are together. There is going to be so much leverage. Most fabricators make an A arm because of the strength. Just having a straight arm makes the weak point the frame tabs because there is no triangulation.
@jamelvaughn20102 жыл бұрын
@@terryj257 I see that too.. any hard hit forward or back will multiply the forces on the tabs..
