How well does the ultrasonic clean the powervalve? How long do you leave them in? Also will the ultrasonic ruin O rings or plastic?
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t clean power valves well. If they are dirty enough to need cleaning we either bead blast or have a buddy vapor blast then. No it won’t ruin plastic or orings with the fabuloso that we use.

Do you always strip power valve when changing piston or depending on how many hours bike has done?
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
Depends on how it looks. Here at the shop we always do because that’s what people pay us for. But my personal bikes, not always.

Hi Morgan kind of on the mini bike topic. If you answered this before please direct me in that direction. My son is coming off a '17 Husky (KTM) 65 it was amazingly linear with no crazy powerband and hit. He now has a '15 Husky 85 and the powerband/hit is way too much for him for the trail riding we do. I added a flywheel weight but didn't seem to help much. Any other suggestions to tame down the little beast. Looks like companies stopped making aftermarket heads for those years. Thanks

Huh. I’m not sure but is there an adjustment for the power valve. If so, I would do that

@@highlandcycles I think the newer generation years have it but I don't believe there is for that generation

I put a Lectron on the boy’s 2018 YZ85 (no power valve) and it smoothed out the hit quite a bit. The overall power was the same, just a little easier on the delivery. He was mad because it wasn’t a light switch any longer but I don’t like fooling with jetting much, so Lectron. It was still a wheelie machine when it opens up, even with my big butt on it.
@stufrowin Жыл бұрын
@@coloradocrawler2010 his 65 had a lectron from previous owner, so I just bought one for the 85. Definitely smoothed out the hit/delivery. I had no idea the carb could do that. Thanks for the suggestion

Do you have any tips or tricks on installing piston clips - its a nightmare on a KTM once?!
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
The 250 and 300 KTM ones suck. No tips other than practice helps.

@@highlandcycleswould you use the fancy easy install clips with the ears (Slavens)…or is that asking for a torn up cylinder wall?
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
@@coloradocrawler2010 those are the best. But they are just the KTM clips from the old 380 KTM 2T
