What confuses me is that he pulls the boards out and causes the center to discharge into the conveyor and then rakes the sides in from the left and the right. if he would’ve just left it alone it would have come from the left and the right on its own and filled the conveyor.

He's got to keep the conveyor loaded. It would take much longer for the material to be unloaded if he waited for it.

@@garysheehan5907 There’s a lot more to it than you can see there. Because the center is putting so much material on the belt, more than the belt can handle, it’s pushing it up onto the sides of the trough which means later on they’re going to have to go back and clean it all off. Paying attention in the beginning pays dividends in the end and these are not the most skilled people that can think. You have to have run a conveyor to understand. Self unloading has its pluses and minuses and minuses are the people.
