In my understanding, it is important for an individual to first work with his/her own emotional difficulties and embarked on his/her own healing journey towards feeling fulfilled and whole in his/her life otherwise he/she will always be expecting and overly relying on a partner or others to fulfill that missing or lacking aspect in him/her... One can never ever received fulfillment from another...it will be impossible if one is not able to feel whole by himself /herself. Only if one feels whole, can he/she be able to be in a good partnership/relationship with his/her partner, friends, etc....otherwise, continuously wanting from another individual or others to fulfill what you feel you are lacking will create a very tiring and miserable relationship....
