怎樣入投資銀行 | 唔一定要好成績+經驗

我現在係某BB 的risk management 入邊做到Director ，以前成績只係second low，但在畢業後grad job 係big 4 consulting 工作五年內考左精算fellow + 兩級CFA 我覺得我apply 成功係因為 人事部+ Hiring manager 見我有5 年工作經驗+ 很有passion 學習 + 講野好似有常識，冇咩在意考試成績，樂意比個機會我入行，但要由associate 做起 (人工依然都高過big 4......)。 相信呢度唔係個個都Ivy League 1st Hon 出生的，人總有早熟和晚熟，2nd low 係起步點慢左，但非冇機會，希望大家唔好因為apply 好多次都失敗而放棄，只要自己畢業後保持努力的話，才有可能把握機會。

@Blood Orchid ​ @Blood Orchid (很高興你assume 我唔係星期一被吞果間) 正常銀行講risk 要細分︰比較大路的Market Risk + Credit risk, 獨特的Liquidity risk 同埋separate 的Operation Risk。我房入面得Market risk + Credit risk 所以我只能評論呢兩種: - Retail/commercial Risk Management 比較看重識唔識看BSPL 同埋報稅單。大部分position 較著重accounting 的知識 (除左Credit risk modeling會對Mathematical Finance 同programing 有要求)。近來開始有大行研究點搵點用big data 去預測credit risk。 - IB credit risk 雖和retail / commercial 相似，但由於係corporate client only ，通常客會同銀行交易比較exotic 的產品，所以對每種pricing model 知識要求比較高。如果大學入面有學過近來市場流行的結構性產品會更好 - Market risk 則係從一個higher level 去分折公司現在公司對於每種市場factor 對公司的影響，由於很多概念 (Risk aggregation, Greeks, convexity, DV01等等 的基礎都和calculus 有關，這些position 對員工的數學底最有要求 人工來說BB 給三種Risk officer 的薪酬分別不大 (market risk 人工高一點點，但相對position 很少) 至於另外的問題︰ - 我本身唔係trader 不便評銀行trader 易唔易做 - 入得大行本身附近好多學業猛人，和同輩們相處雖然開心，同時壓力唔細 。行內普遍認為美行正常比較chur，歐資正常比較輕鬆。我看身邊人都有相似感覺。

感覺上，能入得投行的人都是精英中的精英，又要識IT又要識economy，又要有好的二文三語和人際關係。可能比做醫生律師更難，每年香港有400個醫科畢業生加入醫療行業，但每年能加入投行行業的，我諗可能比這個數字少好多

我做二線投行退休。同期同事過億退休只得少數，阿豬識的幾十億真是難以想像🥳🥳其實依阿豬提到的條件能入投行的年青人，即使做其他行業都一定會很出色🎉選擇自己有興趣的工作更為重要

I’m in Product Control and work closely with FO, was asked if I interested to join trading by the desk head before but I rejected him. So for those who want to go into trading but not there yet, it is possible to start from somewhere else. Be nice to everyone, even the juniors, and be good at what you are doing, and always willing to go the extra miles. You might not have the chance to interact with the big bosses often but if you are nice, the juniors will comment among themselves XXX is very helpful, or you can look for XXX for help. The traders sit closely with each other’s, so that’s how your name get attention. But trading is not really my thing.

Same, that's how I moved from BO to FO at JPM PB many years ago. You don't need to be the smartest, but you need to get your foot in the door first and build your network from there.

我唔知咩叫投行, 不過之前睇過你另一條片, 感覺上如果你父/母唔係李嘉誠, 你一定要大學畢業, 而且仲要GPA好勁果隻, 又做好多義工, 課外活動都同時好強(可以令阿豬覺得坐響佢隔離都唔會悶親, 有幾咀傾既人), 英文都要好, 最近要大陸話好唔錯(因為而家老細都係大陸人)!! 如果係紅2代官2代, 上面既野全部可以無, 野雞大學都OK, 最緊要父/母/是但一個親戚朋友好響朵就足夠!!!

In Hong Kong, I believe things work a bit differently. People who works at a lot of boutique or Chinese funds in HK has a harder time transitioning to front office for international banks because their English are usually not as good so the clients they can handle are pretty much limited to mainland Chinese.
