I am using the normal gypsum powder. After drying the stone emits some kind of plaster odour. Is that normal? And drying for 1 months i realize the odour disappears or reduces so much. Even when i drop Essential oil onto the stone, the oil & stone original odour mixes up and the smell is not pleasant. Do you have any such experience? How to overcome the odour issue? Tq dear.

WRONG from the get go. Plaster of Paris gets ADDED (slowly, bit by bit) TO THE WATER, not the other way around; slowly, allowing it to get absorbed into the water, gently mixing. And it's less a matter of water to plaster measuring ratio and more a matter of knowing what the correct mixture looks and feels like. (The "recipe" can vary; knowing what to look for is more reliable.)

@@ConstanceWang are you using normal gypsum powder or special like plaster of Paris? I tried both I cannot see the different. Actually the "special" one has more air bubbles and dries forever.

@@youniqa I use normal one. Because we need the stone to release the essential oil slowly not too fast. Then they can keep the smell more long time. At the same time. Normal is cheaper than the special plaster power.
