I do wish there was translations for the jp text. but as near as I can tell, there was a body swap, but sylvia, in mr z's body, wasn't quite dead and with her last bit of energy bound Sylvia to the chair. But then Mr. Z pretended to have turned back to Sylvia, and fooled Kenji, but NOT Mr. X, who captured her. Since Kenji was fooled, he thought Mr. X kidnapped the real Sylvia, and went to rescue her in Natraps X. When she beat him up, he recognized her as an enemy again, and finally teamed up with Mr. X for the kill in Final, doing the fusion dance.

Almost accurate. The seal on the chair can only last one year. So Thomas and Mr. X take different path to stop him. (Thomas continues his training in the world while Mr. X keep Mr. Z in the tower) in fact Mr. X is the one that get tricked since Mr. Z pretended that he has acknowledge his mistakes. So turns out in Natraps X Thomas was really trying to fight Mr. Z instead of believing Sylvia is back. Unfortunately the seal is removed right in time so Mr. Z breaks free from the chair and beats him easily.
