The wire placement thing always gets me as well, I also like to delete the floor panel to make it easier to find the wire below, then put the floor back in. If you can remember to place the wire on the port before deleting the floor it's way easier, for some reason no floor makes placing the wire way more difficult.

Check the base for throughput problems, I believe that now that the base is running at 100%, you will start backing up. Especially the auto miners, with them going full speed, the basic belts are no longer good enough.

You need to find a green planet to dock to so you can mine, and farm. Just stay docked and haul it with you.

While you can't "attach" flooring to the underside of foundations and pillars you can build those one level lower than you need and then attach flooring to the top side of those, thus getting the floor at the height you want to.

For the smelter array, if there are glass floors in the game, you could place them immediately next to the smelters. It might allow you to have an easier time if you need to make changes in the future

Get your Kitchen installed and placed, get another 4 or 5 Astronauts in, train two more Scientists and one or two Cooks. That way your Kitchen is always covered and you can boost your research points output. Each Lab can support up to 3 Scientists, so it's probably underutilized (less than 100%). 3 Scientists will push efficiency to 180%...

I want to note that the solar panels can still work under floors, had built plenty in my build and never run out of power and still have no eye sore of open wires. Have them sandwiched between two floor tiles and have machines above and below them. And use the wires connecting to the solar panels to power my machines. Yea I do know everybody has their own type of builds for aesthetic purposes.

When you are connecting power between floors use 4 walls in a square column with the cable up the middle (instead of height extenders). Then the cable will be invisible, and you get more choices of column finishes

For the farm, it is enough if there are only 5 farm land...if it is bigger, the robot just don't have time to finish...

@4:11 Currently the game is set so you have to have one of the columns. Go below the level that you want to set a floor level. You can then delete that column after the first initial floor

Solar panels can be placed back to back with wire between them to save space. Also solar panels don't really need light to work so you can put them under the floor.

Btw, wires and pipes can go through the floor, it doesn't need to be deleted.

Each farm bot can handle 3 grain plots, after later updates they prioritize planting seeds, but since each plot has to be watered for each stage of growth, they'll only grow 3 at a time(veery seldomly will they get to 4) I do need to test a bit more with 4 plots after the latest updates cuz they seem to be a bit more efficient and might can handle 4 a piece nowl. I have 6 farm plots, 2 farms with 3 each and I feed 8 astronauts easily on just bread. One thing to watch out for, farms consume ALOT of water. I have a 48k L tank with 12 crushers and.....I think 16 catchers feeding my water to run 4 oxygen 1 hydrogen and 3 farms(2 wheat and one tree farm with 6 2x2 tiles, maybe 5). Cuz in my last game I had like 10 catchers and 8 crushers and they could not at all keep up with 3 farms 3 oxygen and 1 hydrogen.

'while we're here' you do know you can just fly with that planet attached... can drift through space until you find another one to dock to - then you can even build a dock on the planetoid, and the new planetoid and just dock them together (don't have to be attached to the same dock) ALTHOUGH you will need another dock somewhere that is open, so you can order more astronauts.

The farming to food thing, to me, seems off. Four robot farmers on a 3x10 plot of wheat can keep your colonists fed for like a year in just a matter of hours. Maybe food consumption needs to be sped up or something. It just seems way too easy.

It's because the animals in the ranch eat the wheat as well, and they eat a whole lot of it.

@@dondai2880 Understood. As far as I can tell, the colonists don't gain any benefit from one type of food over another. They would just as happily survive off of quartz water as they would with cooked ham. Unless I'm missing something.

@@gamedaddy9323 Nah, you're right. I think it's just so you're not making them live off one thing, and to give more variety for farming options. I stopped making water bottles ASAP because quartz is a pain to find, and I'd rather have the glass for tubes.
