Zaar Basically is a Mental therapy. I have watched Zar dance numerous times, It called in Balochi language "Gowati" or "Gowateeg" The zaar, I think come from Africa by Arab Merchants or mostly it is a afro Persian dispersion to North Africa and Mediterranean However it is Nice Documentary, Nice Job done for information to Public .

Symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks. Mental illness is misunderstood in those places. The young man who was talking about air getting heavy and pain everywhere, these are panic and anxiety attacks with possible fibromyalgia. It's understandable that he experiences emotional release after such an exertion. especially that he is required to 'let go' in a zar.
@Andalaeknir86

You may be one to misunderstanding. Sometimes spirit caused illness is mistaken and misunderstood to be mental health issues. I don't think you understand these things being foreign to these concepts from the western materialistic culture. If you are interested i hae another video which speaks ob this specifically. This comes from a person who worked as a trained clinical psychologist and she gave long lectures regarding this types in particular.

Hello everybody. I've read a lot of things about Zar as practiced in Sudan by the Sudani. Is there any similarity between the sudanic and the ethiopian Zar? For example, is there any manifestation of Zar spirit in the form of a snake or in that of a crocodile in Ethiopia? I'm very interested in these symbols and the history they bear with them in every indigenous ritual. An answer would be so helpful. Thank you very much!

@@abdulazizclare9545 There has been this trade route between east Africa and Persian Gulf from antiquity. The name "Zanzibar" itself is a Persian name (Zang-baar). "Zang" means dark and "Baar" means shore. In the old time Afrinans were called Zangi in Persian. Also during portugese presence in the Persian Gulf, some Africans were moved by them to the region.

@@ehsansar9726 Its very simple how did Southern Arabians get dark skin? a Africa bloodline. They been in that region for centuries. Ethiopia of today and Yemen under the Queen of Sheeba and Antarah ibn Shaddad. These are hot dry regions like that part of Africa even the flora and fauna are the same. Black people are native to many parts of South Asia and Oceania. It was more than trade waves of people moved out of Africa. When I was in Los Angeles CA some Iranians would ask me if I was from Iran.

It is dangerous to attend these rituals. Some people out of curiosity have come to these gatherings, they have become mentaly ill. It is not clear why this effects some people more than others. It is better not to attend Xaar gatherings.
