This fight for Boots is an everything to loose and nothing to gain situation. If Boots dismantles Cody, it don't put Jaron in a better situation to get big money fights. If Boots looses, his value drops dramatically. Boots clearly has been and will continue to be avoided by big name boxers. They only big money fights available is vs Ryan Garcia and Canelo. Neither of them will give Boots the opportunity cause Jaron won't sell PPV buys more than any other oppenent but more importantly it's a huge risk to loose even for Canelo. I personally think Boots would beat up Canelo. I know people will say that bias but on paper, Boots has more advantages with his overall skillset, taller longer and can box from distance with his jab and movement. Virgil Ortiz, Errol and Bud Crawford all clearly are avoiding Boots by moving up in weight. Crawford is fighting a no name in Madrimov, Virgil just fought Delorme who Boots crashed 1st round and Errol may fight Fundora. I bet you this though, if Ryan Garcia offered Spence, Ortiz , and Crawford an opportunity to fight him at 147, I bet they all say yes in a hurry cause they will make more money then any other fight. Nobody will say no to Garcia. So I don't wanna hear about them chasing undisputed at 154. Fighting Boots is a high risk of loosing and a low reward payout. Crowley is taking this fight because he's a nobody that needs a big win to get his name out there. Crowley is tough as nails with heart. He will either get crashed early like Joe Smith vs Beterbiev or it'll be like Boots last fight vs a hard nose great chin fighter in Villa probably. I get the comparisons to Ray Leaonard, Roy Jones and Whitaker. I've heard Floyd too. I get it. Nobody was or is Roy Jones. Nobody in the history of Boxing had that combination of everything in 1 boxer. Pernell Whitaker don't have the offense like Boots nor any of those guys. Boots handspeed is fast but not like Sugar Ray or Roy. Boots has way more power than Sugar and Pernell. If Boots Ennis wants to get rich, he will have too talk more junk and be hated by fans not black to make big money payout fights. If Boots wants to stay unknown to casual fans, not get big fights till he's older like Crawford, he will dominate slowly and be undisputed at 147 on up. Nobody under 147 wants Boots, guys at 147 moved up, guys at 154 and up with make excuses that Boots is smaller and hasn't fought anyone. I think the only real chance for Boots to get Crawford or Canelo is if a middle East Promoter with Billions, is willing to risk alotta money to pay out the boxers and hope it sells. As of Now, no black boxer is selling to where Casual fans will buy PPV unfortunately. Fans are bias, racist, discriminate etc and the boxing powers that be are corrupt. That's why we don't get huge fights often, Jake Paul vs Tyson is a big deal, Fundora gets a title shot after his 1st bad loss and Errol may get a shot vs Fundora after a bad loss. Rankings, belts, undisputed dont mean anything based on making huge PPV events. Boots cleaning out 147 don't help him get a big fight. It just scares more guys away cause they don't wanna loose vs Boots and not get paid alotta money to do it. Sad.
