Dasha, Natasha, veteran tennis fan from England here - I just wanted to thank you so much for making these vlogs. I’ve been following the game and going to tournaments since the 80s/90s and this channel is just what women’s tennis has always needed (but was never going to get from the official sources or the TV channels 😁). The content, production values (and of course the humour) are absolutely spot on, as is the LGBT visibility. I now feel like I’ve been to all these tournaments with two cool friends to show me around. Look after yourselves and good luck for the Asian swing. 🙂

Thanks for having Eva and Bella on the vlog! I'm a big fan of them and they are so nice in person! Their whole family is so sweet (although I never met Lisa before). Also loved the Katie Boulter interview because I'm a fan of hers as well.

Katie is such a likeable character on tour! Edit: We love that you’re talking about the behind-the-scenes of tours. The per diem / tax situation is so interesting - we never get to hear about these sorts of things!

I love when they talk about the behind-the-scenes details of how brutal women’s tennis is that the WTA would never discuss. That, Dasha’s practice sessions, Natalia’s amazing ice-skating scenes, and the new guests they get each episode (love Boulter!) are my favorite parts of the vlog

A very sweet kid isn't she. I keep expecting a breakout performance but it's coming more slowly than I anticipated. Upward movement for sure in the rankings but no Sharapova type breakout as of yet Still, like you, I eat up all the news I can find about her but, truth be known, Caitlin Clark has kinda taken over my interest in tennis right now. I'm watching each basketball game twice cause just watching her do her stuff is awesome.

Dasha, just remember all the tournaments you have won, and so recently at Eastbourne and try to harness those positive thoughts and feelings and let every negative feeling go. Stick with only positive thoughts as positives create more positives. Natasha is right, listen to yourself and what you need but please let go of anything negative as it won’t help you. You know you can win and win well, have faith in yourself, I have faith in you. Respect for all you two do, camera work, interviewing, editing, music, translating etc. I can imagine it’s not easy and with a timeline too! Natasha, I like your philosophy. You're a very deep thinker. I think that Aryna proved your point when she talked about having a psychologist try to help her overcome some of the issues preventing her from winning the big matches. However, because she felt the person was limited in understanding what works for her she let them go. She understood more what she needed to do to overcome those hurdles. We all have some awareness of what we need to do but first we have to admit and identify the problem. That is where, I believe, the difficulty lies.

So interesting hear you speaking about the differences in financial struggles with top players and qualifiers or lower ranked players. I have this conversation with my husband all the time, the financial structure in tennis for players is not good. I feel it should be more done for those starting in the tour to support them so they can compete. There are a lot of talented people who only reach the gates because can’t afford travelling expenses. But overall the financial structure is stressful for all players.
@zerglan204 ай бұрын
Completely agree. Pegula is a nice person but a billionaire’s daughter in the semis just shows how the sport has such a wealth barrier
@TheBeast-pn2nw4 ай бұрын
Well, that's actually quite fair. In tennis, as in any profession, only the best of the best should earn a lot. Firstly, how can you economically imagine that players who do not show very good results will be paid a lot? (Then the organisers themselves will earn very little). But let's imagine that even if this is the case, what would be the point of sport if athletes do not compete for good prize money and at the same time for good living conditions? I realise that this probably sounds cruel, but that's how life works and that's how it is in any profession, not only in sport.
@TheBeast-pn2nw4 ай бұрын
@@zerglan20 Yes, she may have had a better start than others, but she achieved everything purely by her own labour, so it is very wrong to say that her father's money had a great influence on her achievements.
@MsKenzo74 ай бұрын
@@TheBeast-pn2nw organisers do pretty well, example of Cincinnati demolishing and building a brand new players building, new courts and other facilities before next years tournament. But I am not talking about earning a lot at a lower level, I am talking about some sort of financial support at least for travelling to compete. Tennis is a sport that to get to a professional level it is very expensive. And once you are pro and get injured then you don’t earn because you can’t play but you still have to pay everyone around you leaving very little for you to love of. The pressure is high on court and off court.
@TheBeast-pn2nw4 ай бұрын
@@MsKenzo7 Yes, tennis is a very expensive sport, but I think people should realise what they are getting into. For the first couple of years when a player starts playing on the adult tour there should be some financial support from parents or someone else for the player to be able to perform. But if after a few years you still haven't reached such a level that you can't support yourself properly, then it's only your fault, it means you're not playing well.

Dasha, hang in there. Ups and downs are the usual. Just remember that in every tournament, technically only one person come away happy, and rest are disappointed. You achieved a lot this season; try to remember the great feeling when you won in Eastbourne and that giant bottle that you won along with it. Hopefully that can cheer you up a bit as you look back. And how is Arina still single? 😂 she is a catch!
