Being a single father of a daughter, I appreciate these videos. The history that comes with the tutorials make it not so bad learning how to avoid making my daughter look like a clown. An easy "how to" guide video for fathers would be awesome.

Aw, admire you, Jonathan! I was raised solely by my Dad and he didn't know a thing about raising a little girl. He sent me to makeup classes back in the day, (no KZbin back then, unfortunately) but how awesome that you are doing this for her! Way to go!! :)

Their isn't much I won't do to make her smile, even something I have no clue about and feel odd doing it. I did't grow up with sisters or a mother around, so I am lost most of the time. I am thankful for the internet and folks like yourself that use the KISS method. She learned to bait her own hook, so I can learn how to apply lip gloss. Seems fair, I guess.

The "cat" eyeliner or heavily winged eyeliner was another defining feature of the 60s as liquid eyeliner became popular. It was influenced by Indian and East Asian heavy kohl eyeliner looks. If you look at Bollywood films from the 60s you can see how popular winged eyeliner was.

It’s quite fascinating and interesting. My mom and dad were graduating in the 60’s . My dad in ‘64 and my mom in ‘68. This is probably what my mom did, just guessing! Her senior picture was in black and white, but she did the straight, slightly wavy hair with a flip at the end.

The history lesson is why I watch these. The 20's look was the first reason I watched your channel the other day, I was very curious to know the difference between what make up products were like/packaged back then. Now I've started watching other videos, including a Naked Palette look that I tried out and got a big compliment on at work. =)

Gorgeous!! Another favorite one! This more what I wear as a makeup choice when I have Fancy events that requires that classic and classy look, even though I love red bold lipsticks and burgundy colors too, I feel more comfortable and myself when I wear this kind of makeup look... and that’s the beauty of makeup, that just like clothes you can change and select different styles for different occasions... have to mention that you look stunning with both looks! 50’s and 60’s!!! Like STUNNING 😍

OMG! I was very skinny and cut my hair very short like Twiggy and wore makeup in bright blues with thick eyeliner in a wing and sometimes a double wing. I wore so much mascara on both upper and lower lashes. There were false eyelashes everywhere, including on the bottom. The lipstick was very pale so the eyes popped.

In the mid 1960's you used foundation on your lips. No lipstick. Foundation also had oil in it back then, so it went on very smooth. The shadow was mostly dark, or sparkly green. This is one time I can assure you, that the 1960's actually had three styles in those 10 years, Early was Jackie Kennedy, Mid was even higher teased hair and the above info., and late was actually between collegiate, and a bit of Jackie Kennedy again, and the face colors were browns, and everyone had long straight hair. Most think the hippy started in the mid to late 60's, it didn't in the east, until mid December 1969. It really depended on where you lived. Then again, any 60's teen that graduated in the east by 1967 would choke you to death if you called them a Hippy!!! Remember, there was no communication back then, so it took a year for a "fad' to hit from East to West, or the other way around. Just some information from an old lady, that did indeed, go "Dancing in the Street" in Washington DC! What a blast! I still smile when I hear that song.

@ Shiela6525. True, Most was called panstick in the uk anyway, It was as you claim also worn on the lips, Mascara was also a small square box that was wet or spit on to moisten it so it could be used, High back combed hair styled usually shoulder length with a flick at the shoulder, Happy Days. Hippies was far more towards the end of the 1960s & early 1970s, It wasn't a big movement either like it is spoken about in movies, Very few people went that root, They had far more sense, Drugs was also around at that time but most again had more sense ,Been down hill ever since then with the drugs, Not many could say they refused drugs today, Very sad indeed!
