This movie makes me ache so badly for my youth and has haunted me in subtle to moderate ways every time I rewatch it. High level artistry. Incredibly provocative.

This is my favorite movie and soundtrack. Great writing and acting. Been wondering why it’s called Garden State

because New Jersey is the Garden State and the story from the movie is in New Jersey

I can appreciate why Zach likes the name “Large’s Arc” but Garden State is an infinitely more marketable title.

@@patrickkennedy3901 Zach is the definition of a wooden actor. He had zero personality throughout the entire movie and the supporting cast does all the heavy lifting. It's just really sh*tty. Idk how else to put it. It bothers me when writers make themselves the main character and wildly under perform.

It's the most predictable, juvenile movie I've seen in my life. It tries so hard to be deep and serious, but Zach's acting is so fucking atrocious. The most unlikable protagonist in any movie.. ever. No redeeming qualities about it. Not funny, not interesting, not thought provoking, not a tear jerker. Just a shit fucking movie.

He should’ve had Donald Turk Fasion be in this movie too. The guy who played the cop was the same actor that played “Private Dancer” in Scrubs.

There was no role in it that Donald Faison would be a natural fit for

It’s weird for her to be talking about the film depicting “affluence in the suburbs.” Both Sam and Mark are from single parent homes and look to be on the lower side of middle class, lack postsecondary education etc etc. These characters aren’t exactly being suffocated by materialist excess.
@legalfictionnaturalfact39692 ай бұрын
More like their post-secondary "education" free. :) Leaves more time to actually educate oneself according to one's interests without getting saddled with a bunch of sketchy debt.
