When I get back to Oklahoma
I’ll be a little better off than I am right now
And you talk so strong but you can’t stand straight
How’d you fall for a man I’ve grown to hate
And I can drive you by where I learned to curse
He’s got his creased dress whites in an all black hearse
Why’s the green more green in the east of Eden
Swing on by cuz I know you ain’t eaten
Did the city beat your ass like the trash you are
There’s still smoke smell in your old fast car
You can’t hide where you’re from
With nightcrawler blood on your casting thumb
You can fight and fiend and sell your guns
But you’ll always be the Oklahoman son
When I get back to Oklahoma
I’ll be a little better off than I am right now
I can’t buy her a house like I swore I would
When I was naïve and eager child
And money can’t buy no friend of mine
And money can’t buy me back no time
You can’t hide where you’re from
With nightcrawler blood on your casting phone
You can fight and fiend and sell your guns
But you’ll always be the Oklahoman Son
You’ll always be the Oklahoman son
You can’t hide where you’re from
With nightcrawler blood on your casting phone
You can fight and fiend and sell your guns
But you’ll always be the Oklahoman Son
You’ll always be the Oklahoman Son

Zach you got me singing again my dude. I'm a country boy from rural Oregon. Been down in the city too long. Moving back home on the ranch to help my parents with the horses, chickens, and dogs. Been making that hour drive once a week playing your music most of the time. Ended things with my fiance after four years. Something in the Orange is what I played on the stereo when I dropped her off at her new apartment with the last load of furniture. We both cried like crazy and gave each other a big hug. Don't know you man but I got love for you in Portland.

Only the strong are carved from the red clay of Oklahoma. Only the strong survive the toughest most beautiful land in all the free world. At the end of your life, no, there ain't no diploma. Only debt and strife are left when you're unfurled. Oh, it's the hardest place to bite your tongue, then drive to the edge when you shout your heart. There ain't no lie in my pledge and no shame to impart. Praise God, I'm an Oklahoman Son. Praise God I AM an Oklahoman Son.

I Still Remember That Old Cedar House I still remember the neighbors and bbqs we shared, step dad strung out, falling down inebriated and impaired. I still remember often feeling angry and scared and looking back, I hate how much I cared. I still remember believing violence was just part of life, watching a worthless husband beat his kids and wife. No love without sacrifice, no living without strife. If you wanna heal you gotta first pull out that knife, then pack the wound with all the good memories of life. I was too young not to be innocent, hard to believe it ever really existed. Dark days grabbing anything for some luminescence, eleven years old waving goodbye to adolescence. Mama working two jobs and always stressing, watch as her tears fall without a blessing, this thing called life is so oppressing, forever fighting for scraps in an endless recession, it's so depressing. Not many know what this life is about, just trying our best to figure stuff out, using what we got and doing without, we’ll make it one day I have no doubt. I made it this far and got away from that old Cedar house, God knows I’ve tried to drown it out, looking back I wanna scream and shout, “Forget you, I know my worth, I’ll never sellout.” My little brother could do no harm til he smoked that stuff and stuck needles in his arm. I wonder what his life could have been, damn near a Saint without sin, I thought he’d always be the one to win. The pain and hole in my heart grows, each time I think about the people I lost heaven knows. If you could, you’d carry them on your back, even give them your clothes, you hate the life that they chose, but that’s just how the story goes, through the highs and the lows. I still remember the way the wind smelled, that dry dust in the air with a hint of honeysuckle. I still remember the way that belt felt, leather hide and brass belt buckle. I still remember how hot it’d get, only way to stay cool was a plastic pool and a rubber hose to stay wet. No tv and no electricity, playing outside with bare feet til dusk cut on the light down the street. I still remember that old tire swing and the sound of that guitar missing strings. Love to hate where we come from, you gotta struggle to overcome, just another life in the Slums. I am an Oklahoman Son. Written by Indigenius Truth Social @ Indigenius

Best song on the album bro every lil damn thing about home that makes it feel right, tears you up inside knowing it’s a part of you, you’ll never be able to take with you and you’ll never be able to leave it behind. Love you man been watchin you go the past three years, listened to damn near every song when I found you, saw my reflection in the lyrics the pain, the love, the loss, the confusion, the hate. Genuinely means so much to me man.

This is what we love about you the raw unplugged stuff. Record the album with you and your guitar around a campfire with some great mic’s and leave the producers out… all they do is take away the rawness and pure emotion that got us into you in the first place. Yay being said still love the album but all acoustic to me just resonates Soo much more emotion.
