What he said was so deep and true i completely agree. I feel so great when I play for myself but if I play for other people it's a very strange feeling that almost makes you 2nd guess how good your song is despite the reception. The idea of how people can listen, publicize, and enjoy watching your created work can be very overwhelming for a reason I can't explain. I think that's what he meant by "dark truth".
@CerealGamingTV4 жыл бұрын
arguably it might be that it exposes the "dark truth" that every talent and every endeavour and every creation one has is only important insofar as you can share it with other people, and that it has no real value if only you see it.
@mozzzom67074 жыл бұрын
The dark truth is the ego feedback loop and subconscious (or conscious) pursuit of validation. Also the glorification and idolization of artists creates a rift between the audience and the performer. Why is someone driven to perform live vs. enjoying their craft in solitude?
@seankemp97063 жыл бұрын
Wtf this wasn't a deep introspection. It's like a very stereotypical hippy thing to say. Basically, "Is the music really for me man, or is it like for the people?" The speculations on the "dark truth" within these comments is deeper.
@roarkij3 жыл бұрын
@@seankemp9706 i think these comments are what zach was speculating about as well
@deerbeautyrecords3 жыл бұрын
no i think the 'dark truth' is just inevitably being forced to play live in front of an audience to make a living. the reality is you cant just drum for the rest of your life in solitude at a desert, even if its what makes you truly happy, you have to make a living and survive, and thus being forced to play live even though it virtually adds nothing to the experience (for hill in specific).

I can get the same thing ou- playing by myself at home or dropping outta society and going to the desert and playing by myself everyday. And thats what truly makes me happy in the purest form of playing music And then, but then when all this other stuff gets involved, its great too but at the same time it makes you ask you why you need to do these things in front of...peopl- or why all these other things have to be attached...you know, and basically it kind of like- well theres a couple of answers to that, but one of them is like the dark truth…
