truly can't get over what a beautiful collab this one is... 💙 Alongside the song itself I also wanted to share this quote about this song by Zach Hood: “‘Happy Ever After’ is about two people that were in a relationship but ended up having a mutual breakup. This song is on the other side of that relationship and seeing things on social media or hearing from someone that this person is doing so good without you in their life. In reality these people are both feeling like they’re missing something and they’re truly not happy without them. They both feel like it’s their fault the relationship didn’t work out, but they don’t speak or keep in contact with this person so they sit with the thoughts that they tell themselves. ROSIE and I had a session back in June of this year. I had the ‘if it’s happy ever after why am i not happy after losing you” lyric ready for the session. Weird enough on the plane ride to Nashville, TN she also had written the lyric ‘Happy Ever After’ on a piece of paper without knowing i had done the same. If that’s not fate i don’t know what is.”
