Things must have really changed as far as squirrels in Michigan, at least SW Michigan. I stopped hunting there in the late 60s and in the 10 years I hunted I dont believe we ever shot a grey squirrel, must have been some but we shot tons of fox squirrels. We always looked for woods next to corn fields, the squirrels were much bigger. We use to go to Nebraska for years and squirrels was one of the things we hunted along with pheasants, quail and rabbits. Those corn fed squirrels were even larger especially near the Platte River. Maybe the grey squirrel population exploded. Also, we shot 99 percent of the fox squirrels in the trees either hiding somewhere or running on the limbs. Nice video, thanks for sharing.

There's getting to be a lot of grey's and blacks in Genesee county, when there where none before.

This is great stuff from the memory lane… any way of getting the squirrel recipes published?
