It'll be fine by dusk light I'm telling you baby,
These things eat at your bones and drive your young mind crazy,
But when you place your head between my collar and jaw,
I don't know much but there's no weight at all,
And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't,
'Cause if I say I miss you I know that you won't,
But I miss you in the mornings when I see the sun,
Something in the orange tells me we're not done,
To you I'm just a man, to me you're all I am,
Where the hell am I 'supposed to go?
I poisoned myself again,
Something in the orange tells me you're never coming home,
If you leave today I’ll just stare at the way,
The orange touches all things around,
The grass trees and dew, how I just hate you,
Please turn those headlights around,
I need to hear you say you've been waitin' all night,
There’s orange dancing in your eyes from bulb light,
Your voice only trembles when you try to speak,
Take me back to us dancing this wood used to creak,
To you I'm just a man, to me you're all I am,
Where the hell am I 'supposed to go?
I poisoned myself again,
Something in the orange tells me you're never coming home,
If you leave today I’ll just stare at the way,
The orange touches all things around,
The grass trees and dew, how I just hate you,
Please turn those headlights around,
To you I'm just a man, to me you're all I am,
Where the hell am I 'supposed to go?
I poisoned myself again,
Something in the orange tells me you're never coming home,
If you leave today I’ll just stare at the way,
The orange touches all things around,
The grass trees and dew, how I just hate you,
Please turn those headlights around,
Please turn those headlights around.

Been listening to this guy on youtube for years. Today I had to drive my best friend (my dog) to the vet to say his final goodbye and this song came on the radio. You made it man. You finally made it. Last song my Frankie boy ever heard. He always loved just laying out in the sun and basking. Now everytime I see the sun's orange hue across the sky I'll think of my buddy. "But I miss you in the mornings when I see the sun."

Damn man, I know the feeling! Sorry for the loss! He's was a part of your life, but you were probably his whole life, something to be said on that. A constant companion. No matter how bad your day, your feelings, etc.., a dog will never have a day in his life that he isn't happy to see you. My boy Blu brings tears to my eyes everytime I think about the day I have to make this trip with him. Be well my friend.

Last December was my absolute rock bottom. Exactly 1 year ago was heading home from Durant Oklahoma to Dallas Tx, making my weekly trip to pick up Methamphetamine. This song came on and instantly opened my eyes to how bad my addiction had gotten. Here in just a couple hours I'll be officially 1 year sober and I'm lucky enough to say I have my wife and daughter here to celebrate with me!

God bless 🙌 good for you! So much more to life then drugs. I was a addict too, gave it up. It's like giving up your whole life at the time, starting over. It feels lonely because you loose alot. But when you wake up and appreciate life again for the small things it great. I love to do yoga now and walk my cats! Before I sat in a dive bar high 5 days a week.

I’m sorry for your loss. My pupper is just starting to get into her senior years and I cherish every single minute she’s still here with me. We go everywhere together and do everything together and I just know that when her little time comes to travel into her next life i know somehow someway she will find me and let me know everything is gonna be ok. I saved her once from having a horrible life and I gave her the best life any puppy could have because I don’t know if she realizes it but she saved me from cutting my life short. My depression ran so deep inside to where numbing all the pain with substances stopped working, but one day I found myself in a drug house and this little beautiful pup ran up to me and wouldnt leave my side. The owner called her annoying and 😢said take her if u want her. I woke up the next morning hung over on the floor of My living room with this little angel sleeping next to my head. That day I promised to give her the best life ever and since that day i became a better human and person to myself because of her. Thank u

I think his songs remind us of a time when things felt slower. When days lasted longer and were spent with friends, family, or alone. When days and nights weren't consumed by screens and constant media grabbing at our attention. Even his videos show this, just people living in the moment with their friends, pets, family, etc... In this hyper-digital world it is nice to come across an artist who isn't overproduced, and a voice that reminds us of the old days. Put his music on and spend an afternoon with your kids, go for a drive with a view, play with your dog in the yard, or just lie in bed with your lover.

I lost my Dad about a month and a half ago. After our first Church service without my dad, on the way home, this song came on and enveloped the whole car in complex emotions that I don't I've yet come to understand. Just as the song ended my mom who has been an absolute rock; broke down in tears as we pulled into the driveway and parked next to my Dad's beloved Acura that he didn't have the heart to get rid of. I can't explain it but I can feel a lot of my dad when I listen to this song. All in all, it is very ironic since my brother and I were trying to get him into country music right before he passed. That classic rock lover is up in heaven somewhere making all the greats laugh with his jokes. Zac, thank you for this song, it is a hard one to listen to but it is damn beautiful and I'm sure my dad would have enjoyed it. RIP Pops

In the past 5 years I lost my grandparents, both of my dogs, my godfather, my dad, my very good friend who would have been my best man, and my brother. After my dad died, my own mother filed an eviction against me a month after she forced me to leave my dad's property that I had been living at for almost 15 years, tried to have me arrested and thrown in jail, then tried to take me to court. My new dog I was training to be my PTSD service dog was killed in October of last year, then my girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me a month later the day after Thanksgiving. I spent Christmas and my birthday alone. I'm dealing with PTSD, depression and anxiety. It's gotten so bad I've barely left my bedroom in months. I'm currently on the verge of being homeless in less than a month. I have no family, and I can count the number of real friends I have on one hand. One of those friends offered for me to stay with her, but her health is failing rapidly and she might not be living much longer. I literally have no where to go and no one to care for me or about me. As I'm listening to this song over and over again, I'm laying in bed bawling my eyes out trying to think of a reason to keep going. Every day it gets harder and harder.

@@jessie6600 the way I'm receiving it, the "in the orange" line is just a metaphor for something we don't know or really understand or just a "gut feeling" so saying "something in the orange tells me you're not coming home" would be like saying I just have a deep feeling you're not coming home. In the sense that I lost a great woman and I have a gut feeling she's never coming home.

When this song first came out, I had conversations with a close friend of mine about what the meaning behind this song was. They had shared with me that they read somewhere about it being about the struggle of drinking and possibly alcoholism. Another was losing a very deep love. I listened to it from both perspectives and found it to be one of those songs that helped me through my addiction to sh. Sometimes you feel like you're a slave to the unhealthy things you learn to cope with when you're in pain and wrestling between knowing its harmful but not knowing anything else. It's like you're consumed by it waiting for the light to pour back in or something else to save you from the never-ending cycle/darkness. I have always loved Zach's songs and the rawness he shares in his lyrics. I am seeing him this summer and I am so thankful for his willingness to share the things he has been through, through his music and platform. Truly remarkable.

When we were younger, every time there'd be a good sunset we'd let each other know. I miss him so much everyday.
