3 tips that comes in handy ! Tip 1 : instead of hovering use 1 single preferred finger to hold the handlebar when u are not ready yet for hovering Tip 2: Speed is key !! the faster u go , the more the bike is stabilised and less chance to abruptly swerve Tip 3: try to peddle real steady while balancing , 1 slight move with ur knee and u dont go fully straight anymore 😄 good luck
@ziggypi48133 жыл бұрын
i think the fact the bike wheel corrects itself at high speed ( angular momentum ) is a pretty key point, that most people dont understand...a bike is balanced via motion...and even if you werent even on the bike and let it go down hill it would go straight and stay stood up...although i would never test this with my own bike ;)

Couple things from someone who picked it up quickly this past week. I go to and from work no hands, which involves turns, bumps, riding on sidewalks, etc. 1) Best way to do it is to just take your hands off at the same time. Doing it one handed (imo) will freak you out more because your not exactly balanced out if one hand is on then suddenly off. Just take both hands off when you’re going fast enough. 2) Going over bumps wasn’t addressed. If you really want to master this, you should do it in an area that has speed bumps so you can learn how to get over that fear, because if you don’t know how to “eat” the bump, you will “eat it”. Otherwise good video. Biking no handed just adds so much thrill to biking, it’s almost addicting 😅 I can go about a mile no hands, maybe longer but again I have twisty roads, bumps, uneven surfaces, etc! And that’s the best way to do it 😉

When I was younger, I could never really grasp it Turns out I was riding really unbalanced bikes The moment I got myself a half decent bike that wasn’t a hand me down, it came natural and easy the first time I tried on a good bike. Now I’m turning corners and weaving through traffic no hands 😂 mind you, when I say traffic, it’s not very dense, certainly no NYC etc I Do have a slight contest on the “always keep your eyes ahead of you” My heads on a swivel when I ride, I’m looking ahead, down all the side streets, behind me, my ‘blind spot’ I guess. I’m always paying attention. If Car drivers did what they were supposed to do and Obeyed road rules, I wouldn’t have to do this, but I’m surrounded by bad drivers, and I’d rather be in control of my own fate, then leaving it up to chance or a driver who isn’t paying attention or doesn’t care.

My tip is to shift the weight to the rear of the saddle at a minimum speed of 20 km/h, lighten the front wheels, and grab the front of the saddle to secure steering and driving torque. To do this, the saddle must be at the rear of the bike and the front of the saddle must be higher than the rear of the saddle. In addition, the saddle should be installed high because you need to be able to extend your legs when pedaling. Hands-free riding is similar to the technique of unicycle or wheelie riding. I ride 15 kilometers hands-free for at least 30 minutes every day. It is a very refreshing experience. 😎 I am recording and uploading these beautiful videos every day.🖖

Hey Zach. I'm riding an older mountain bike. I keep it lubed and well maintained. It rides and balance feels good but when I ride with no hands the bike immediately starts drifting to the right. I shift weight to the left and I can control it but I'm always left of balance to go straight. Everything look straight and cables are not pulling in the front. Could the frame be sightly bent or is it something I'm doing wrong. My previous very similar bike that I had for 20+ yrs was perfectly balanced. Unfortunately it was stolen. Any suggestions?

I can feel how little I am controlling the bike with my finger, but as I'm riding in a bumpy and dynamic environment (college campus), I don't feel safe having my hands completely off the bars in case of emergency braking.
