Ciao, the best idea ever. I learn English by myself and I’ve never been in English speaking country. And it’s interesting to see myself practicing my knowledge with native speakers.

Ciao Zach, io sono italiana e seguo spesso i tuoi video soprattutto per lo studio siccome anche io studio medicina e passo molto tempo sui libri, mi fa tanto piacere che tu sia stato in Italia e che tu stia cercando di imparare la nostra lingua! sarebbe stato bello incontrarti per strada! un abbraccio!

Wow, incredibile, parli benissimo e hai fatto progressi velocissimi. Capisco perfettamente il motivo per cui hai detto "quando sto parlando in italiano" perché in inglese diresti "when I'm speaking Italian", purtroppo ci sono delle differenze tra il present continous e la corrispettiva forma italiana. Per il resto sei davvero, davvero bravo! Non penso che in una situazione contraria avrei fatto di meglio

What tips do you have for learning new languages?
@ZachHighley Жыл бұрын
Grazie mille!
@lotoflaughs28 Жыл бұрын
@@WorldlyPast immersing yourself in the language and culture in every possible way, starting from music, setting your phone on another language, searching for memes in different languages, movies, listening to others speak that language a lot, even when you search for tutorial on KZbin use that opportunity for learning as you pay more attention to words when you NEED to understand what it’s being said. What has worked best for me has been having friends and a relationship with someone from another country. Start practicing orally with yourself as well, talk with yourself and listen to yourself while pronouncing words and get confident with the sounds you hear coming from your mouth and compare them to the sounds you hear from others. Copy the sounds and phrases natives use in specific situations instead of translating in your head from your native language. Every language has its particularities. Have fun discovering new things, and once you understand the differences and the common features between two/more languages, they will get stuck in your head. :) good luck!

English language literally came from to the Italian language, like the Spanish one, in fact for an Anglo is easier to learn Italian respect from a German or a French fe, cause you will only have to add something to your already existing language, unlike the French and Germans as a said that literally have to start from zero... you maybe wonder why? cause you, aswell as Ireland of course, were lucky to be an Island during the Barbaric invasions, in fact French and Germany were basically the only areas victim of those invasions, they never settled in Italy (also for the Vatican State) or Spain (were Arabs were defeated, also thanks to a lot of Romans who after the Military services, went retired in those zones, like also East Europe, in fact thats why you have Romania, that literally came from Roma ) and in England / Ireland (an island is more difficult to conquer and that also helped to maintain traditions back from where you were.a Roman province), thats why Germanic and French are so much different from us, cause they were invaded in fact the original French and German languag spoken during the Romans was more similar to the italian one, although they are closer to us than England, you will find some many similar words with the Italian language aswell as a lot of expression (like see? that comes from the italian vedi? or stay scherzando? = are you joking?, capisci cosa intendo? = you know what I mean?) that noone else in the word in fact use besides us (English, Italy, Spain) because as I already said English Language came from the Italian language (its like a broken Italian).

Zach, I tell you what... your biggest hurdle to learning Italian will not be Italian itsself... It's your nasal voice. Italians very rarely have a nasal voice... and it's considered very odd and cringey.
