Small corrections: The CS weapons were added for the German censorship. Australia got a cricket bat texture instead (Which was also eventually added officially along with the CS guns) The weapons weren't locked behind specific server regions either afaik, but rather they'd spawn in if a player with the censored version of the game was in your lobby. Also, every melee weapon has the same range of 70 inches. The knife still has it's 10% slower attack speed after the rebelance (Cause the original knife was just way too busted, to the point even tournaments had to ban it), but it's still the strongest melee in the game despite that.

@@yashuab.2979 The Katana and Knife have the same refire delay of 0.8 So not only is the knife the 3rd fastest melee weapon, it's also sharp, has the widest swing (After the pitchfork's 3rd swing), the same amount of hitrays as the axe, and a clean horizontal swing. It's basically the melee weapon equivalent of the AK47: It's really good at everything, and there's nothing it's bad at. It has no weaknesses or downsides.

Can confirm that this is actually correct: It was exclusive to the German version (Valve even made a trailer for it!), and the server was irrelevant, only that a player with the German version joined. The only other important note: Dead Center did not spawn them, as it had a line in its campaign.txt that specifically disabled them. If that line was missing, they could (so Custom Campaigns were compatible).

Honestly Valve needs to buff AWP & Scout. The fact these two cannot kill a Charger or a Jockey despite headshotting them in one bullet is ridiculous

- For The AWP: Use the "HexToMax's Powerful AWP" script - For The Scout: Use the "[V-Script] Counter Strike Scout" Those scripts will make the snipers feel as powerful as the CS versions. And as someone who plays in Realism Expert and/or Advanced in Community maps and plays other FPS as a Sniper; I argue that bolt-action can work in L4D.

You could make the CS:GO Sniper weapons so much better if they functioned like TF2 Sniper's rifle and they had access to their entire ammo capacity. Bolt-action is already very slow, but the trade-off of never needing a full reload animation is something that could have given these weapons a genuine niche. They would still have to compete the with traditional Snipers' more Run-and-Gun effeciency, but their higher stopping power and no need for reload time could make them really useful for Crescendo and Finale encounters. I wouldn't even say this would break Versus mode because the AK-47 would still dominate even if the CS:GO Snipers got this buff.

SG552 is the goated weapon. I used to run a lot with Military Sniper Rifle, as i love to snipe Special Infected from a safe distance to keep them away from my team. With SG552 i could maintain this gameplay option while not raping my mouse while fighting the horde

Avout the CS weapons they were very rushed. The running animation for the SG and AWP were still used the AK running version that show case in Pax. I'm not sure when they changed probably after they work on the last DLCvbut the version that you can use in the last stand is the refine version of these weapon

Yep, I played that demo RELIGIOUSLY when I got a game with the combat knife and MP5, trying to get the weapons again. I guess I got lucky and joined a German or Australian server without realizing it on the demo.

The AWP is really only good for killing special infected in versus mode. It's very powerful and can destroy your health bar if fired at you by a skilled player.

These were for Germans my man. Overall i love the CSS weapons and i'm glad the Last Stand update was officially added to the game. I made a little modpack(for each weapon in particular) that balanced these guns, the mp5 and 556 got more dmg less ammo and a small accuracy tweak and best of all the Scout and AWP got a huge dmg buff but way way less ammo, second to no accuracy unscoped BUT when scoped they're rlly good so you kinda pick your poison, big dmg rlly slow firerate and accuracy that needs scoping or the vanillac bullet spitting guns. They're called "Better CSS Weapons" on the workshop to anyone interested.

I have fond memories of loving L4D2 but feeling cheated when the friend who had it and that I'd play it with told me about the uncensored version only to be excited when he of course had a copy, legality of his copy aside it was awesome getting to experience the gore and such! AWP and Scout was hard to use for new players or players without the knowledge of shovefiring mechanics in l4d2 with essencially fire then shove and fire again it's more faster that way and these weapons are a challenge it self for users but it gets the job done on sniping specials the awp and deag combo like CSS is also very good but sometimes people liked the awp and melee combo as well to handle horde perfectly they are great at the hands of well known player. (^V^)b
