I love that he doesn't cry about Angeal until the next day with Aerith. That's too real knowing that you won't ever see the people you care about in the next day once they die. In a world with an item to bring back a downed person, it still hurts like hell when you see a confirmed death in Final Fantasy.

Lot of stories are guilty since they want to keep a fast pace of not really letting the moments sink in. Here it definitely hits harder just having a character ugly cry. Or they do the opposite and it's too exaggerated which anime is very guilty of. Here it's just depressingly real. Even the hug from a cute girl can get you out of your funk you just gotta let it run its course.

In fact someone tried to make a Sega Dreamcast emulator on the PSP but it nothing was really playable... but the fact that someone got the dreamcast menu to load was super impressive.

In my headcanon, he did mourn. Genesis and Angeal were his only friends until Zack came around. He may not be the type to wear his heart on his sleeve, but Sephiroth was also human, and I'm willing to bet that his heart was also in pain upon hearing the news his buddy died.

I remember failing against this boss repeatedly. One of the reasons was 'cause up until this point, I didn't know how Phoenix Down worked in this game. And had to look it up, eventually. One of the parts that hit the hardest is this is the halfway point of the game And the buster sword is passed to Zack and in the scenes following an instrumental version of Why plays. Than in the end when Zack passes the sword to Cloud we get the full vocal version

Pre rendered still doesn't look good. A proper remaster is still better. Textures are reworked /replaced and some even done from scratch. Cutscenes are upscale and framrate is enhanced if done correctly. If blueprint ever remastered this game I doubt anyone would even consider emulator. Like he god of war 2 remaster on ps3.

The story of Cloud in 7 was pretty tragic, but to get the back story of Zack in this game. To see that not all Shinra were bad, and to see why Aerith clung to Cloud so closely in 7. While I think the Japanese dub is great, I can't help but feel that the English version is even better (personal opinion). These days, voice actors have such a hard time nailing the tonality and emotion present in these scenes but back then, they did it perfectly. (I used to watch anime in dub way back when and anime from the early 2000s had stellar English voice acting, with the greatest example being Dragon Ball Z. Anime nowadays, not so much. Apparently, games follow the same trend, if Crisis Core Reunion is anything to go by.)

He was sleep deprived from having to watch for the turks and soldiers for a year. While caring for Cloud, he also had to deal with Genesis and all the monsters native to the different regions they passed through. Plus little food and water due to being on the run. By the time the army arrived, he was running on fumes. Still killed an entire battalion (1000 soldiers) - 3.

How is it that Gillian can suicide, but Lucrecia can't due to Jenova cells? Furthermore Lucrecia was never injected with the cells directly like Gillian.

zack is one of the most tragic characters in ff first off - puppy boy second off - MOST TRAUMA IN THE GAME! third - he keeps his innocence, integrity, and love of people despite his apathetic job. he always does what's right, even if it hurts him (and it ultimately kills him), and he stays human an interesting detail is the "Activating Combat Mode" and "Conflicr Resolved" lines. it's a job. he gets sent out on repetitive missions and it's always that audio cause that's his job talking to him. he just killed the mentor he's known hus entire time at SOLDIER and all it says is "Conflict Resolved" despite being one of Shinra's dogs he fights to stay human and it hurts. that is the price of freedom

So if I understand this correctly: Genesis and Sephiroth had Jenova cells implanted into them after they had been conceived (looks like Hojo wasn't the only lunatic who thought that was just a fantastic idea), however Angeal is different, his mother had Jenova cells before he was conceived and was completely naturally born with Jenova cells. And people think Kingdom Hearts is confusing.
