I live in Wichita, I attend a diploma program and I wrote a short essay for a class on my bipolar and mental health problems and how it started and the process it took me from then to how it is now, and after I turned it in my teacher told me about her son's experience and his book. I know EXACTLY how this man feels, institutions, legal systems, everything; and just how much of a pain in the ass it all is. I'm grateful that you put your experiences out there because people need to know what it's like, and alot of us out here dealing with it are lost on how to go about living with it. Thanks to Gorilla, and the Bird for showing me I'm not the only one. 💙

Thank you for sharing. I had a similar experience with wanting to do comedy and thinking I was being filmed when I was psychotic. This was however, after I was on medicine for awhile and then went off. I wasn't accepting of my diagnosis. I have always struggled with my diagnosis. I am glad you have found acceptance. Congratulations on writing your book.

I'd like to share this video, but I can't post a video with a title that glorifies the disorder. I find this to be similar to saying "I hate being bipolar, it's awesome." We shouldn't be spreading these misleading ideas. Bipolar disorder ruined my life. I think the disorder needs to be treated as a serious even deadly illness and honestly. After the buzz over the book fades, will the disorder be such an asset? I've also heard other people comment that his man's relationship with his mother is uncomfortably intimate. Most people don't have that safety net and many people wind up on the street or dependent on the system. Again, being homeless and bipolar is not the best thing that has happened to me.
