I agree with everything except Andy being a bad judge. He's one of the best judges on here. I mean, none of them are experts, but he's pretty good. As much as I love Dan in the arguments, he's probably the worst judge I can remember thus far.

I was just about to comment about this. It was very hypocritical of Andy to just choose monsters university because cars 2 sucked especially when he said he bases his decision on the argument. Mike had a way better argument. it may just be me but I feel he gives points away just to keep the competition going.

Tiffany wiped the floor with the competition on this one and the only reason she lost the Aquamen debate is because the host didn't like Man of Steel...which shouldn't be relevant to the discussion...And personally I call bullshit on ANYONE who actually claims classic Aquaman look could fit Batman v Superman.

Aquaman would fit in with the Avengers but he is in the wrong universe.The thing is. DC is trying to be the Anti Marvel, so they're making their films darker rather than funny and family friendly, like Marvel.

Hearing them say the costume isn't true to the comics pains me. The costume you can see is based on Peter David's Aquaman and like Tiffany said, we haven't seen the trousers yet. P.S I feel like I'm the only person to enjoy Man of Steel and think that the tone suited it well lol.

I agree with you! This is the look from Peter David, a raw warrior, quite brutal. And this aquaman fits to the new DC universe, a darker universe. Even in the new 52, superman is an arrogant guy at the beginning. And you can be sure that the look of aquaman in the comic-book will change to get closer to the Snyder's look when we will come closer to the exit date of the movie. The only question is: what will be his hair color ?

Amillerbiller95 Lois lane falling when everything else is being pulled upwards. The truck scene makes no sense and he would be seen the second he did that. He got away with smashing a truck outside a full bar but couldn't save his uncle during a hurricane? There is a bunch of jesus imagery for no reason at all. Jor-els death has no impact has he is essentially ressurected with plot magic, he has no limitations in his computer form. Superman is not primarily focused on saving lives which is the main charicaristic of superman. It feels like a batman movie with the wrong hero.

Ridiculous. How can they dislike an awesome Aquaman? Also, I don't fucking get why people keep saying there was no hope in Superman. I thought it was pretty inspirational. And all the whining about the "no-jokes" stuff DC's making. Would you prefer every superhero movie, Marvel or DC, to be the same? To habe the same tone? We are already being flooded with superhero movies, at least let two companies be different.

My problem with man of steal was all those needlessly dark moments like Pa Kent dying in a tornado for no damn reason. I don't mind a more serious superman but keep it within reason. They forced him to have a much darker past than he needed and it just felt forced and unnatural to me. However depending on how they spin it I could see the king of Atlantis having a pretty serious past.

***** Exactly. What they should have done is something like this. have the kents go to the city (like a vacation or something) they go to the Bank or something and get caught up in a robbery. One of the guys is obviously about to shoot Pa Kent and Clark tries to help but Pa Kent stops him and gets shot in the head. The reason this makes sense is a bank would be filled with tons of people who don't know the kents and its a big city so word would spread fast. Plus a bank would be filled with cameras. So the entire world would instantly know about him if he did anything. Unlike what they did where the only people that might see it are a handful of towns people who would likely not say anything out of respect and even if they did talk no one would believe a handful of people living in the country. Personally I don't think Pa Kent should die at all. But if he HAD to die something more sensible and less forced would have been better.

Tiffany is so on point with Aquaman, the rest of them just don't want Aquaman to be a tough & serious character as he should be taken as. It's how they're reacting to the picture that they think it should be in their minds "fun" and "goofy" type doesn't fit the character for any means. Here goes Hal "Aquaman is not The Dark Knight" well obviously not, but that's not point either. I will respect your opinion Hal, but to come across and act like Aquaman should not be taken rather serious or gritty of the complete opposite of the original Aquaman is completely ridiculous.

I still can't believe people are bitching about Mamoa's Aquaman. If they went with the traditional orange and green, most people would've just laughed their asses off. Never mind the fact that Aquaman's comic at one point used to look like this "Unite the Seven" poster. It's particularly reminiscent of his 90s and JLU incarnations, which I'm kinda mad Tiffany didn't bring up here. It's like these people mad about the costume read the Geoff Johns version of Aquaman and suddenly became Aquaman purists. Moreover, Aquaman has been iconic for all the wrong reasons. Until fairly recently, among all of the somewhat prominent superheroes, he's traditionally been the most laughable one. So making him look completely badass is completely necessary in order for the non-comic reading audience to take him seriously at all. And to all you pseudo-fanboys talking about the lack of color, you're _really_ reaching for your complaints. Take a look at regular Jason Mamoa; he's _much_ tanner than that, which means they most likely retouched the photo with some kind of filter. Any chick with an instagram account could figure that out.

"Man of Steel was too dark and joyless. Superman was meant to be bright." Okay. Well in that case Hal, you MUST hate Batman because Batman from the start was not dark. Batman was a kiddy character with the most CHEESIEST lines ever. Adam West's Batman acted like the Batman from the late 1930's. That was Batman. If you don't hate Batman, then you can't complain. If Batman's outlook can change from a kiddy cartoon hero to a brute, dark, and serious hero, why can't Superman's outlook change from being a SILLIER cartoonish, boy-scout of a hero, to a realistic hero who has to decide what's right or wrong? Man of Steel showed the REAL situation of Superman. Superman is not a kiddy superhero anymore. He's just an extra terrestrial being struggling to do the right thing for the people. Batman v Superman will put that to the test.

Maybe I'm biassed because of how badly written it is, or because it told a story of abuse and sexual assault and tried to pass it off as BDSM, but fuck that movie. Mariah Hewitt Michael Caine was a film legend before Keaton had his first big role. The question was "best Hollywood Michael", and that's Michael Caine, no question. He's been doing it since the 60s, and has been awesome the entire time. Last week the question was "best Hollywood John". John Wayne was the correct answer, and he's been dead for 35 years. I like Michael Keaton, he's great. Michael Caine is one of the greatest of all time.

I agree with Tiffany about her being robbed in round 3 and Middle Earth. And if I'm being honest, I think Tiffany was robbed the win because Andy was being biased as hell. I mean, he really showed his ass during this episode. Other thoughts: - Hal's, Mark's, and Andy's complaints are the epitome of geek male envy lol. Because they literally just complained about how ripped/masculine Jason looked even though Aquaman has various depictions of him looking buff. - How the hell is Andy gonna tell Mike he can't base an answer on his favorite movie yet picked Back To The Future simply because it's his favorite time travel movie? See, this is the bias bullshit we've been complaining about when it comes to Andy. - Speaking of Mike, Mike didn't say 50 Shades was good. He specifically said it's the kind of bad movie you watch just to make fun of for years to come; how does that translate to him saying it's good? Oh wait, it fucking doesn't. - Tiffany got the initial Dan treatment. By that I mean Andy was being biased as fuck so even though Dan/Tiffany had the best argument, Andy went with the answer that mirrored his personal opinion. P.S. - If you guys really want to make things fair, pick a judge who has an opposing movie taste than the panel. That way it'll really be about the arguments because the panel will literally have to argue/beg the judge for a win.

Tattoos make no sense, who gave him them? It would be impossible for humans to give him them so means must of got them in atlantis. Why did he cover his body in tattoos once in Atlantis? They most likely are magical in nature so we probably will see him wield magic in movie.. The tattoos make Aquaman look like a idiot not badass. Looks like were gonna get "Grrr aquaman smash! grr! Their version of Aquaman is too campy. They have no clue what they're saying trying to fit that into the universe that has been built for those movies. Also it makes no sense for Aquaman to be campy. He's a politician, an emperor, a general, a diplomat, and was an Immigrant of his own empire having to deal with REAL and TOUGH issues all his life. On top of that having to fend for himself for a long time and being a true protector. But lets make him ride a bright yellow seahorse in an orange latex suit because white shirt guy thinks that's a great idea. These guys apparently want the justice league movie to be done in the style of Space Jam. With all do respect. I can't speak for everyone who disliked it, but I personally thought that Zack Snyder made a beautiful film that was all style and no substance. With Avengers, it knew it was a dumb popcorn flick and embraced the fact it's story was elementary in nature, whereas Man of Steel in my opinion came off dry and lifeless. I didn't hate it, and I don't regret buying the ticket, but it was just kind of lackluster in story and development, and despite how I liked Caville in the role and as Kal-El, he had nothing to work with and came off as card board. I also didn't feel his chemistry with Adams, but that wasn't a big deal to me. Overall not bad, but Snyder really needs to focus on fleshing out his characters if he wants me to actually care when the climactic scene with Supes and Zod occurs.

I think it's more the idea that superman having the power set that he has is more capable of taking the fight elsewhere (especially since he was dealing with something like 3 or 4 super powered villains) whereas the Avengers were dealing with an entire invading army who's point of entry was over the center of the city (which would make trying to move the fight outside of the city pointless). Also in the Avengers they show Cap saving citizens, taking charge to help the police direct people so that there are as few casualties as possible. Superman on the other hand pushes Zod through some kind of silo and through a 7-11 (which causes it to explode) in the middle of the day. There were cars parked at the 7-11, it was not abandoned or evacuated. And that was before the city destroying final battle. It was a fun movie to watch, I really enjoyed it, but it was also a much darker, mostly joyless superman. Then again, what do you expect coming from Zack Snyder? That's kind of his thing. The 300 films, Batman films, Sin City films, Man of Steel...name one that wasn't pretty much perpetually cloud covered and grey most of the movie.

Monsiuer General​​​ well, kal was also dealing with an army so to speak. He was facing people who are just as strong as him, with one being the former military leader of an entire planet. So I don't see how he could possibly dictate the fight, or as you say take the fight elsewhere. Also, the one thing people seem to fail to take into account is that this is his first outing as Superman, it's one thing to use your powers to save a bus full of kids, or workers at a burning oil rig, but taking on a group of supers (by yourself) is, and should be a lot tougher. Then there's the fact that Zod and his people are using their powers for the first time, they have little to no control so the destruction they cause is understandable. I just think people hate MoS because it's Snyder, I mean there are even people who criticise the soundtrack, which is just ridiculous considering it's one of Zimmer's best.

I agree but I felt Man of Steel was a bit too forced with it's dark tone. Like Pa Kent did NOT need to die especially not in such an easily avoidable way and there are other points like that where I was just "Okay is this here for any actual reason or is it just to make things more edgy?". I don't mind a more dark Superman but also try to keep it fun! Adam West is too goofy but these movies are getting too serious. So what I'd like is something a little more in the middle. Something dark and serious but not overly so. Let the audience have some fun and feel happy for at least part of the movie.

Also I've never seen him die (but I'm not a big comics fan so I'm sure there is plenty of stuff I haven't seen) but killing off the dad is the kids youth to give him a darker and angstier backstory is the most cliche shit you can do. I've tired of parents always being missing or killed off just to give the character a more painful past. I've seen it a million times and it's boring as hell now. Plus the way he died in the movie just felt so forced. Seriously I pray that if superheroes secretly exist that any kids I ever have NEVER become heroes because if they do I'm probably fucked!

Aquaman is a badass! I loved the new look! Also I think you're wrong about him always being funny and stuff. In the justice league cartoon he was a ruthless ruler and he wouldn't listen to anyone. So there can also be a dark and edgy Aquaman. One other thing is that we know DC is good at making legendary heroes, while Marvel is good at making funny and comedic heroes. David Ramsey Do the Right Thing was a strong choice, too. But at least it got the nomination for best original screenplay. Groundhog Day was a complete oversight by the Academy, when considering that it has been selected by the National Film Preservation Board later on. I'm not saying it's the ultimate oscar snub, but it's definitely a big one.

I like the new Aqua Man look, remind me a bit of the cartoon where he was so muscular with the loud voice and the badass attitude. But the hair should definitly be blond. Love Tiffany for mentioning Kingdom Come during her Marvel/DC Crossover fight in round 4. By far one of the BEST graphic novels done on the DC universe with one of the most climactic endings for an older/younger generation of heroes.

Fact is, Aquaman was a cool character back at a time when there weren't many cool characters. Now time has changed, characters have more edge, more issues, more drama, so its only logical that Aquaman has to change with the times. In fact I'm all for renaming him altogether cause Aquaman does not exactly strike fear in the hearts of today's villains. So how does one upgrade the least favorite Superfriend? Complete overhaul, no more Mr. Nice guy Aquaputz. You call him by his birth name "Orin" through out the whole movie and mock up some kind of scene where he's captured by circus folk and they end up putting him in a freak show and BEHOLD!! The Aquaman! You amplify his sea creature mastery by throwing in a few Super Megalodons at his disposal, a majestic looking giant sea horse, and an epic Kraken looking beast, and all of a sudden Aquapants over there gets a little more respect. You trash the old costume, butch up his language settings, and you make him hate humans, much like Namor except not like Spock in a green Speedo. Lastly I think they should throw him back at a time when good versus evil was a reality, like in world war 2(Captain America/Hellboy style) and however basic his powers are wont be so basic if he's taking out Nazi U-Boats or some early version of the Legion of Doom with his friendly horde of killer whales to back him up. Unite the seven with that guy and you've got yourself a SUPER superhero.

Victor Knievel Not saying you have to like this costume but those costumes that u just showed look very similar of course they wouldn't make an exact copy of the costume directors inlcude their own version of what they want to see only major difference is dark hair, tattoos, and no harpoon the other stuff are minor changes only hardcore fans can point out and nitpick about if someone totally unknowledgable about comics were to see this and think this looks nothing like him then find that 90s version they would think this looks just like it minus the harpoon

Matt Mosley​ that sounds like a great story. Samuel Sundberg​ there are two Punisher movies aren't there? The only one I have seen is the one where Travolta is the villain, I do not like that one. It's a bit campy camp does not suit the Punisher. His origin lends itself to serious story telling.

Hugo Torres​​​​ I disagree you could make a dark, psychological crime movie from those two characters with the right people at the helm. It does not just need to be just a shoot em up with a high body count in fact it would be a waste if that is all it was, not when you have two such psychologically damaged individuals. In the hands of talented writers it could be a story that makes the audience ask themselves serious questions like yes Punisher is doing horrible things to seemingly horrible people but is he justified? Should he not let justice take its course? After all these are people with families is he not as bad as them? Joker should be like in the Dark Knight just this anarchist who wants to see the pillars of society crumble. He could go on monologues about how we are all puppets being controlled by the "system" the same system that killed the Punishers family and allows crime, that keeps us all in shitty jobs, things average people will relate to and swing them a bit to Jokers side. Don't make the characters black and white like "Punisher is the good guy, the poor soul who lost his family so sympathise with him and these are the bad guys who deserve what he does to them no matter how cruel. Let the killing commence." Paint the characters in shades of grey to truly let their twisted nature's show then throw in some great action set pieces and you have the makings of a great movie.

Matt Mosley maybe campy is not the right word more like over the top. But I can see why the story writers would feel the need to make the villains in the Punisher movies so over the top, its cause of the character of the Punisher. When your protagonist is basically a mass murderer it makes creating a villain tricky. The villain then has to be over the top mustache twirling evil without a single redeemable or realistically human trait about them so that when your murderous hero kills them the audience feels that they got what they deserve. ***** It would be a good one wouldn't it? Joker playing mind games with Punisher, trying to get him to join him as Punisher is "equally vicious". Telling him the system creates the criminals, why not destroy the source? Seeing how Punisher deals with Jokers mind games. Cause Punisher is not the same mind as Batman. The Dark Knight is a true hero he knows what he stands for Joker was never going to sway him. Punisher is a more vulnerable mind, it ups the stakes.

I've never thought of Aquaman as a joke, I've always liked him. I am not that bothered about the costume, yes it doesn't rly look like the Aquaman we all know and love but I still think it's fine. But I do wonder why they didn't go with darker colors for the original costume and made the top more of a golden color with really dark green pants and maybe add some nice touches to it, wouldn't that have made him look badass..? And maybe cut his hair or something bc now he really does look a lot like his Conan character.. I am looking forward to this movie tho and will definetly go see it at the cinema ^^

How the hell does this look anything like Peter David's Aquaman? The version that was "cursed" for his blonde hair? It's only similarities to it are long hair and a beard...and there's some green on the pants. That's it. Peter David Aquaman was just the short haired guy but with his hair grown out. This Jason Momariner the Aquamariner bullcrap is a brown Hawaiian dude from the pacific islands (so he must be from Pacifis, not Atlantis), has guy liner eye makeup, has dark dreadlock like hair with frosted hilights, tattoos all over, and what looks to be scale like skin. It's basically every Jason Momariner character ever with a trident. We live in a world where Rocket Raccoon, GOTG, and Howard The Duck can be made to be cool within the parameters of the characters, yet Aquaman, a more successful character (pre GOTG anyway) who has had several popular cartoon series while Rocket and the others languished in the 5¢ bin, can not. Speaks volumes about the differences in creativity and belief in the characters at DC/WB and MARVEL. This isn't taking Aquaman and making him cool, this is taking something safe people already think of as "cool" that you're automatically "uncool" for not liking (long haired barbarian Conan tattoo dudes), and slapping Aquaman's name on it. Pretty much saying that the last 60 years of Aquaman is shit and will never be cool, when they could have made that image cool like Geoff Johns did, rather than trying to steamroll over it all. This is like taking a little silly character like Rocket Raccoon and turning him into a big feral creature because "that's cool and edgy and badass!"... it reeks of overcompensation when the audience will see right through it when Snyder & WB should have been showing the world how Aquaman as is can be cool rather than changing him into Jason Momariner and trying to make their own Chris Hemsworth, which is all this crap is.

I'm not saying he's great, he's far from my favorite but why does Aquaman need to be so hated? "Aquaman's a loser with useless powers!" says the idiots of the world. You wouldn't be saying that when he's throwing a trident at you with his magical water hand he lost to piranhas and is riding a freaking sea monster. I think Namor (Marvel's Aquaman) is less interesting and he doesn't get hated.

Brighton Palmer Well, for me Aquaman's powers were never useless. I tought and i still think that being able to command sea creatures is actually handy, specially if some of them happen to be powerfull and strong. I guess he gets underestimated but for me, useless? weak? THats not a word to describe him. He is not the king of the seas for nothing.

Aquaman has more of a personal side, he's a king of a sunken city, bulletproof, had his hand cut off to save his son (JLAS), stabbed darkseid with his trident, and has a wife that can turn water into anything she wants.

This is for Tiffany. You can't just go to middle earth and expect to ride eagles. Gandalf is basically an angel in human form, even before Gandalf the White, so he gets some free cards. Also, the eagles never fly over the lands of man in fear of being shot down. They were almost exterminated by man long before the story of the Lord of the Ring. That's why they couldn't just ask the eagles to carry Frodo to mount doom and drop the ring off........ If you're going to nerd out, nerd out properly.

I do find it kind of funny that Jason Momoa originally turned down the Drax role for GotG, because he didn't want to get typecasted as always being that buffed up badass in the film industry, and yet he goes and becomes just that for Aquaman anyway. Way to keep your priorities straight J. =p
