It is indeed Map in English , though this song MA-PA is abbreviation of MAMA & PAPA, it is a word play the eyes as MATA in Tagalog , the eyes is used to lead as when we are still unstable as young as we are and same with the feet PAA..This is a journey of a child growing up that wherever they may go, it will keep coming back to where they belong..it bring us back to the word MAP, MAPA in Tagalog that gives us the right direction to where we want to go.👌👋✌️😍🥰🇵🇭🇵🇭

Pablo wrote this song in the middle of the pandemic and the boys were in quarantine. They can't see their families and miss them so much. Lataratara is part of a lullaby that Pablo's grandmother used to sing to him. Mapa doesn't have an official MV but recently they released a full ad for this sponsored by an ice cream brand, Mapa x Selecta. It tugs at your heartstrings as it brought back their childhood memories.

Pablo is too smart if it comes of writing their song.. (Lataratara) is a lullaby here in Philippines, "MaPa" means "MAP" and it could be also means "MAMA & PAPA" which is "MaPa" so generally Our Parents (Mama&papa) is our MAPA which is our Map/guidance in life while we're still exploring in life.. "Mama" Is our eyes cause she let us see the world (She's the one who give birth to us, without her we can't see the world) it could be also means she's the one who sees our pain first or fail, struggles in life or (everytime the world is changing) that's the mother instinct I guess, she knows when we're happy or sad... on the other side Our "Papa" is our Feet, his making us strong, prepared our hearts for the battles in life or what the world brings to us as we grow older and slowly seeing the real life so that when we fail in life we will never give up or fell down because papa teach us how to stand in every battles in life❤ and it's our time to pay them back as we see them getting older, it's our time to take care of them as they've sacrifice so much just to raise us and give us the best life that they could give to us. ❤❤❤ Pablo said he wrote the track to "inspire people to be appreciative of everything that our parents did for us and to give back"

Sounds like you've really zoned in on Pablo's style of writing. In one of their performances they talked about how they were all doing laundry one night and were talking about how they missed their parents. Pablo is really genius in his interpretation. Justin, the youngest was responsible for the actual visualizer. Quick fact, Josh had never met his dad and Ken was raised by his grandparents since his parents chose to work overseas to support the family so this song is also about the parent figures in our lives. All their ballads are deep and it's nice how you take the time to interpret them.

Thank you Sir for this reaction. MaPa is by far the most endearing & iconic song of SB19 for me. When I first heard it, I fell in love immediately with it. That time, pandemic season, my Papa was still alive when this song got big here in the Philippines. I used to avoid hearing this song cuz I'm so sentimental. That time, I was the one who was taking care of my elderly and ailing Papa. My Mama passed away in 2016 so I took the responsibility of taking care of him. Due to pandemic, he can't go outside to do his daily routines pre-pandemic and I think that aggravated his illness - Parkinsons. After he died in 2020, I couldn't stand hearing MaPa for 2 years cuz I ended up only crying so hard. With God's help and my family's support, slowly I overcame my longingness for my Papa, but still I miss him all the time. Im so thankful to SB19 for the wonderful songs they created and will be creating. I'm in my late 40s now and I just hope that my children would also take care of me and their dad when we reach the age of senility.❤🇵🇭

The part of Josh about dad "Dad, do you remember..." it hits bulls eye. Many people in different parts of the world appreciates this song because it's so relatable. The line that says ikaw ang aking paa sa tuwing ako'y gagapang na. I really love this line. For me it means. That even if we fail or made mistake or totally become a failure or a loser the advises or words of your father would always make you stand strong and go on. That's why maybe there are NOT a lot of Filipino children or teenagers with suicidal instinct unlike in other countries. Ken is singing this part, and it's meaningful because when he asked his father if he could take a rest from schooling(3rd year Architecture) he just simply say yes while his mom keeps on talking.
