Hey Zack. Oh yes, the a capella opening was magical, but thankfully, the musical accompaniment was arranged so well that it truly complemented her singing perfectly, especially Jimmy killing it mightily on the sax. This was magnificent and deeply touching. In my early days of experiencing Angelina, I used to have the inexplicably silly thought that she couldn't possibly get any better. Of course, I very quickly came to understand that she has no ceiling. She is completely limitless.

When Angelina was 11 and did this song, it sounded like she was pushing herself a little bit, but did a great job. Jordan’s phrasing and breath control are what have always separated her( along with the unbelievable depth of tone of her vocals) from every other singer of the past 50 years. Elvis is the last singer I can remember who had these qualities. Maybe that’s why she’s the only one who can really cover his music. Check out her version of “Love Me Tender”, when she was 11, I think. It’s actually better than his!
